If I can find a griller, chef or cook that knows the difference between medium rare, medium and medium well... Then medium rare with a nice sear.

But for the "average" R300 steak medium well, cause ya know, the spatula jockey in the kitchen is just earning his pay.

"How do you take your steak" shouldn't the only real option be: Orally.

Just another internet fad where people see a few Youtube clowns claiming the only way to eat a steak is medium rare and then every fool is suddenly an expert.
Most people don;t buy top quality steak. Yes buy your Wagyu and eat it medium rare. But most buy cheap normal "voerkraal" steaks.
Medium to medium-well is the best.

I like that people enjoy steaks well done, it means the restaurants can get rid of the bad cuts and older cuts at a profit.

F.... the way the rest of the world prepares cow, I've gone from medium rare, cause that's delicious on a braai... to medium... cause that's nice on a grill (aus / brazil) to medium well... cause Europeans can't "BBQ" for ****...

Nee boys... daar is niks soos n choppie op die kole nie. American brisket gets close, but no cigar.
