I dont think the weather is that bad. Not in the South-East anyway. The image people have of UK weather more accuratly reflects Scotland than South East England.I thought we just had a good summer. 2 Weeks on holiday on the Sussex coast was great.
There is a weird route that gets you into the UK without going through UK immigration but you'll have to work for cash on a farm somewhere!
The UK summer is great both days!![]()
JimM;3134610 You'd be surprised at the Christmas tree "rules"... Although this is probably seen more in larger companies; I actually worked at a large broadcasting organisation that had a prayer room for Muslims but no chapel for Christians! Although my list was intended to be funny said:Ricard[/B] he seems not to be so much defending the UK but more convincing himself he did the right thing in moving there! A little like whistling in the dark to keep ones spirits up! Most odd his comment on TV content?
I left the UK (my country of birth) five years ago and I miss the following:
1. An Indian Take-away in every town - I've mastered my curry making skills so it's no longer a problem!
2. Holidays in South Africa - Duh? I live here now!
List ends!
The grass is always greener on the other side. In the case of the UK it is simply due to rain!![]()
If you moved to the Outer Hebrides with all the other Scottish farmers.. sure
It will RAIN.. for 5 minutes every day at 3am - youre awake so you care
2a. When it rains on a Monday you will instinctively know it'll still be raining on Friday (the same or next week).
Yeah, The security guards from SA should brush up on there language skills
Depends if you rule out PROGRESS in languages - you seem to have ruled out North of the Thames. I could say the same about JHB as there are 80% non-english speaking people there too.
Sorry they dont broadcast Pron for you..
LMAO!!!!!! so Bovine/Swine growth hormones are now flavouring? Why not get some modern stuff called 'Spices'
Thats is a worry... all 12 cases last year have everyone in a panic
This is horrible... but it depends on personal preferences. I prefer winter times.
People earn 10 times the salaries.. go as Telkom about the Scale of Economies
Dont know where you were..
Actually dusk at 3.30pm - but you missed summer when it gets dark at 11pm
Cos I could
Again... dont know where you were.. in some scaly part of London
LOL! thats the price you pay for using PUBLIC TRANSPORT. You failed to mention when the trains dont run, there is a bus service from the station in question.
Utter K@K
Is this a bad idea?
Utter Horse ****
your GAS company is called an ENERGY PROVIDER. The sell Electricity and GAS - ENERGY!
True.. there will always be a moaner
I am surprised you dont miss the UK. You complain about everything much like a true British Person does.
One other requirement is that the company must have made an effort to find someone local. At the moment they're still quite lax on this, the requirement isn't very strict and companies typically just pretend they couldn't find someone local, i.e. they make up some reason not to hire any local people who come for an interview. Difficult to police really.
LMAO!!.. All I need to justify my UK move is walking in to my kids rooms at night and watching them sleeping peacefully... nothing else is needed![]()
So you have don't like curry, I do. It's actually the UK's national dish! You can keep your Indian currys... most are putridI cant believe you actually MISS bad food

There are three unless you don't view the BBC as a company? I worked for BSkyB.Strangely I work for THE OTHER BIG Broadcasting company and they dont have Chapels or Prayer rooms, I guess thats just dependant on company to company.
I lived on the Essex-Suffolk boarder, probably not far from you? The English was and probably still is quite bad! "Spose dares nuffin rong wid dat"!I live in the East of England and the weather is fantastic, unlike the picture you are painting (being a whinger.. I am still getting to your level of expertise) is wrong. It might be true for South London, but comparing Durban to Canada is the same level of comparison.
I would has at a guess and say that you are one of few...I miss many things of SA, but I did not Emigrate to be a 'South African in England', I choose not to partake in the 'When-we' list of things to do. (When in Rome, do as the Romans so) and I do-not hate South Africa - but I DO HATE the South African mentality. If you close your eyes, you cant see any problems.
Agreed London is for visiting...London is a crappy place to live and work, but thankfully my employer permits me to work from home and I only go to the office once a week. (being a Geek is fabulous) London is not the only place in the UK - but then you are aware of that.
Free? The TV licence fee was an astronomic price when I left in 2004...Next time you put on DSTV and flick over to BBC or Sky, remind yourself that its nice not paying for that drivel they show.. and then watch the program from start to finish.
Sun cream?Your kids most-likely already have kids, but for now, I prefer a good nights sleep than a melinoma.
Not so much whinger as such (although being British it comes naturally of course!) just pointing out that for a sack load of pounds you have to sacrifice rather a lot!
