MNET was started to save the then big 4 print media houses by giving them an alternative revenue stream due to advertising income lost to the SABC during the 80's.
TBH both MNET/ CSN was a good idea due to poor stewardship fro Naspers who only wanted to milk it so they could use the profits else where. DSTV kinda killed the whole liner TV experience that people where used to.
If you looking for any previous bad moves by Naspers you only need look at M-WEB & M-CELL.
