How long does upgrading take?

phone them again and hope you get a better person to talk to....
 
Applied for my upgrade from 384 to 512 yesterday, this afternoon when i got home it was 512.
 
shouldve gone 4mbit ;) but i know you just want it for the upload speed
 
ok ppl today i phoned and upgraded to 1024, and according to the person at telkom i spoke to, my line should be upgraded to a 4mbps automatically.

keep you posted on how long it takes....
 
well assigned port is a good thing, that hopefully means there are ports available, otherwise... 3 to 6months they say to install more ports. HaNsA, gluck!
 
I got upgraded to 1mb line earlier today.. my modem was synching at 1152 down and 384 up.. but i couldnt get net access.. so then i phoned telkom and they said they would fix and it would take 1 hour or some bs.. now i check and my modem is synching at 512 and 256 :( i think they going backwards on me.
 
*waiting on 0800375375* and i laughed at the lady when she said i should call on wednesday if the upgrade had not taken place yet... I must of been in a dream world
 
*cries* just got off phone with telkom now. You know when you not getting something soon when they say that your upgrade has gone through to the planning department and they will contact you. *sighs* must mean im either more than 4km away or a higher power just doesnt want me getting 4mbit(wonder if my father intervened)...
 
im starting to wonder how much further telkom can actually escalate my order. So far they have done it 4 times today.

I'm getting the same problem ziglet, ordered on friday, and have phoned 3 times since:

It'll take 3-7 days (when I ordered)
It's scheduled for tomorrow (on monday)
There's no schedule, it'll take 28 - 30 days (tuesday)
It must be an oversight, it'll be done within 48 hours (a bit later on tuesday)

*sigh* :(
 
Sigh's. Telkom annoy me so much. It took my friend two days to get his adsl line upgrade.. When i first foned they said my road did not support it.. but then the next day my modem synched at 1152 but couldnt get online.. now they reverted me to 512 again and im still waiting :(

telkom have upgrade me to 4mbps, within one day!!!
i think the telkom guys in my area(westville north durban)are quite jacked up....

whats amazing is my downstream SNR has dropped considerably wit the upgrade. how is this possible????????????

telkom speed test:

which other speed tests can i use to test my connection?some links pls?

yes! i left for club at 8 and line sync was 384 and just got back now, drunk outta my head so maybe im seein thing but im syncing at 4mbit, OMG!!! lol! too drunk to even be happy,damnit! telkom has ruined a good thing once again!
 
prison break in 13min avg, 450kb/s. so worth the wait!
