How long will the current data promotion still be available?

Yes, there is a lot of rumours going around about the end of promotion date. Some say it's end January, end February and even end March. I have just spoken to Cell C and the rep told me there is no date. It is "while stock last" promotion. He even said that the promotion could run to the end of May! It all depends on stock availible. It can end any day! But some senior person from Cell C must let the people know when exactly the promotion ends!

This while stocks last is plain chain yanking.

What they mean is that they will continue or discontinue with it as and when they feel like it. They need to reach a certain target perhaps of customer numbers to give them a satisfactory base for profits. I don't think they even know what this figure is. The rules have not been made because they don't know where this product of theirs will take them.

It is my hope that it takes at least a year for them to stop the promotion meaning that people will be using their promotional data till 2013 at least i.e. if they continue selling the promotion till Jan/Feb 2012.
 
The longer this offer is available, the more the customer base from MTN and Vodacom is eroded, the quicker these two cartels realise this, the sooner they will drop their bundle rates, the sooner they drop their bundle rates Cell C could wooooosh us again, this cycle must repeat until we have data rates comparable with the rest of the world. So, Cell ©, please don’t announce anything, keep MTN and Vodacom guessing to the benefit of us, the consumer. I get 5 GIGABYTES with Cell © for the same price I got 500 megabytes with MTN and VODA, someone has to break in this relationship, certainly won’t be me, as I woooooosh off to the next topic.

I would like to know how long this data sim promotion where i pay R+-1000 for 2GB data for 12 months as i am only plan getting my Novatel MiFi Around end of Feb will this promotion run up until then and also if not what would be the price be after the promotion for the data sim and 2GB Data.



Cell C Reply" Good day, kindly note that there will be no new activations on the promo as from 00h00 on 01/03/2011, No usability of the bundle and the unique out of bundle rate after 01/04/2012.

The rate after the promotion ends will be charged at the normal R2 per MB."

Well I hope we get those sim cards here before then. I was in Game a few weeks ago and the 'salesperson' had no Idea what I was talking about when I asked him about the promotion...
 
I have also been trying to get ahold of the CellC rep with no reponse, what a shame, specially with them advertising how they got an award from MyBB and how they are supposedly concentrating on customer service now.

And if you have a un-activated package? Will they refund?

OMG! Surely they are joking, thats 40 times the bundle price!
 
Remember this is promotion/while stocks last (perhaps they will extend the promotion in order to get the target goal they require probably 100 thousand users or more) - also to get many people hooked on cell c killer bundle/data deal - my main concern will be what will CELL C do to encourage those customers to stay on board after 1year by then LLU will probably be a reality....

Is it possible to have an un-activated package? I understood they do everything in the shop so the SIM is ready to use after a few minutes.
 
I've been to the cellc store near me(cape town waterfront.) and they only have the 5gb promotion on prepaid not contract, they told me they're getting more contract stock but I've been told that 2 days in a row... something tells me I'm being blown off. I was approved for a contract and was told they'll contact me when they get the contract stock...
