Doubt it, DSTV have a multi cultural audience. I cancelled mine years ago because it was a rip off. Their model is hopelessly outdated. Those calling for a sports only package can expect to pay around the same that they are paying for a premium service, sports is their bread and butter and they ain't letting that go cheaply. How many of these loses can also be attributed to emigration? As I'm seeing more and more people emigrating.

Can we remove the "because of Netflix" in the pity party. There are numerous streaming services available, not just Netflix. Why don't they rather say, they lost subscribers because of the internet, or better, because of competition. Fair economy.
It's the SA monopoly way.dont understand Multichoice strategy here. Instead of increasing prices and losing customers, why not reduce pricing and increase the numbers significantly... Weired company is Naspers
Why should a person only wanting to watch rugby be forced to pay for a premium package ?
Why can't we 'cherry-pick' what we want and leave the rest out ?
The time has come for MultiChoice to give people more control of their packages - classic 'adapt or perish'
Allowing subscribers to choose which channels they want to access & pay only for those channels.

Price each channel according to the cost of content ( & popularity ? )
- for e.g. MC may need to charge more for SS1 to cover Rugby rights costs.
Service to poorer subscribers could be ensured by designating certain channels as 'free' channels - and which a subscriber would qualify for - according to how many paid channels are selected.
for e.g.: allow 1 'free' channel ( of one's own choice ) for every 6 paid channels selected.
Yeah no multichoice... I'm an ex premium subscriber and I didn't leave because of Netflix. I left because your product is too expensive. So you are losing subscribers because of your actions not competition

Same schit Telkom tried pulling, same schit Eskom is pulling - and look where they are now...
I agree, but it's highly unlikely that they'll even consider unbundling the sports. And if they do, no doubt they will charge a premium rate for a sports-only package. So in the end it's just not worth it.
Naspers shareholders are only interested in leeching off Tencent shares and really don't give a toss about anything else.dont understand Multichoice strategy here.
