I recently worked as a traffic controller for a few hours in the sun.

Let me just say that I understand the circumstances these guys work in. It is brutal.

While I don't believe that they serve much purpose in preventing theft of motor vehicles in parking lots I do believe they prevent the more petty crime with the presence.

They sure as hell doesn't help when they stand behind my car blocking my reverse cam.

Another form of handout tax? Perhaps they should apply for a car guard grant at our nearest ANC offices.

A shop or venue that needs parking attendants is, by it's own admission, unsafe.

I pay car insurance and have my drivers license for 30 years already.

I avoid areas too. If not then I park in reverse , so as to make it easier to skid away but that does not stop them anyways. I normally don't stay long in shops at all, but if I do & they approach me , I must admit - I feel a little bad but I skid away anyways windows up. I take it there are some areas if you frequent a lot, they tend to know you, in that case maybe a coin now & again so that they don't scratch your car / pop your tyres, this is a true story by the way but it is yet to happen to me!

R10 if my vehicle is still like it was when I return.

R50 if he brings over a girl like I requested and keeps the vehicle safe.

R100 if he brings the girl, keeps the vehicle safe and supplies good quality drugs at a reasonable rate.
