I like to mention the well known poll is that folks here seldom Add Hope

Because a company that make billions in profit can't add hope from their greasy pockets.

Same goes for restaurant owners who do not pay their food technicians a living wage.

I don't mind this, same with the R5 Takealot one.

It's optional, it's not a percent of a total value, and you never interact with the recipient like you do with a tip.

Do you have any idea how high the rentals are for restaurants ?
A landlords eyes light up when he hears the new tenants are going to open a restaurant.
Add the costs of food prices, high volume of staff, theft, breakages, legal fees, licence requirements, insurance, gas, load shedding, long hours etc.
A decent tip is valid, the waiters work on their feet the whole shift and have to deal with some real idiots and drunk people, and take a lot of abuse.

•How about the establishment?
•The establishment employs them and pays UIF.
•Dur...
And what does the establishment pay them from?
Answer: your pocket.
You just want the establishment to include a mandatory 20% tip hidden in the price of the meal that you pay irrespective of the service and quality of food. That's not bright.

Tip for what. They already get paid.

Do you tip a Spar or woolies cashier? Do you tip the Car Wash? Do you tip petrol technician? Do you give R2 at KFC?

Restaurants already make a profit.
I have two friends who are pricks like that, except one feels he has to explain this to the waiter every time. I usually avoid the embarrassment by not joining if they are part of the group.

Thye pay it from their pockets like any other business. What makes them so different.

And this is different to other businesses, how?

10% roughly. Never less.

If the food was shyte, I'll tip anyway but decide if I will return.

If the waiter gives serious attitude or is just poorly behaved, I won't tip. It has not happened yet.

I assume you meant profits... i.e. the patron's pockets.
If you're not making profits, you're not going to be in business. If you're having to carry higher staff costs, you're going to charge more for your product. The difference is you provide performance incentives with tips.
