How much do you tip your waiter?

Self check out is a thing in the US.
At fastfood joints, gas stations, general stores.

Square POS is also a thing ..... we use it for our sales and there is an option to add a tip screen.
Suprisingly ..... people buy a few things from us, and leave a $1.00 tip fairly often.

How do you check what restaurants pay their staff before eating there?

If they had to pay their workers more (which I agree with), they would need to charge more on their menu pricing. I'm paying either way, so I don't mind.
But the restaurant doesn't currently have a fixed overhead for this cost, so they take advantage. And the servers need the income, so they keep doing it. And I don't mind tipping so they can feed their kids.

People that can't afford having kids having many kids is not an issue in South Africa! /S

How do you check what restaurants pay their staff before eating there?

The fancier places actively dissuade tipping and bake the service charge into the pricing up front.

Or simply include a default percentage up front.
