I like how some PoS systems shame people into tipping. We need those here, especially in Cape Town.
when I see this I usually go custom and see if I can enter negative numbers.

Otherwise I generally tip 10% rounded to the nearest 10.
If it's a company card then 20 rounded to the nearest 10 or 100.
It also depends how the tip is distributed, i.e. is it only to the waiter or distributed to everyone including backend kitchen staff.
If something small like a coffee then 0 tip but a thank you to the staff.

Tips make it less quantized, and provides higher ranges.

Why not just pay the person you employ what they are worth instead of expecting me to? Tips lead to people expecting them, which makes your quantised provision of higher ranges null and void.

There has been a “tips debate” for yonks, it’s not a new concept it just more prevalent now as the expectation & percentage is higher.

In almost all instances you will not be able to change an oke’s viewpoint whether it be encouraged or discouraged.

Hence I like my memes & don’t sweat the small stuff.

That's nice. Now share how much you trip.

For me it's usually 10%. Goes up or down depending on the level of service. It would have to be shocking service for me not to tip at all though.

Do agree with others saying waiters should be paid more so that tipping isn't something that's required to give them a living wage.

Normally 10%, but depends on service, sometimes more.

OT, having seen an opinion by a streamer on tipping, wouldn't donating to streamers be considered tipping?
