First of all this is not a panic or fear mongering post, this is an educational and informative post.
The purpose is to share and make people aware.
I won't make this a long post, just sharing and creating awareness.
Well here it is for yourself to read through, instead of relying on "braai stories" or hearsay.
If you are a firearm owner, I'm sure you'll be very familiar with the current FCA legislation, regulations, restrictions etc.
So the above-mentioned proposed Draft Bill has a bunch of amendments to it.
As for one particular proposed amendment is Section 13 (self-defence) as you can see, which is as clear as day, with the new proposed Bill it will ultimately almost be impossible to obtain a firearm license for this particular Section with the new proposals.
In my own personal opinion, instead of organisation, associations, groups, stakeholders, etc running around and getting their legal teams involved and trying to counter this, or compromising, or negotiating etc, this proposed Bill should be rejected in it's entirety by all and everyone, no negotiations, no discussion, no debate, nothing, zero.
We already have extremely strict and absurd legislation, regulations and restrictions currently in place, there's absolutely no reason or need to amend anything at all, on the contrary there's a much greater NEED and REASON to have less and more lax regulations and restrictions.
