Just recently got my girlfriend a bouquet of flowers. For no occasion what so ever. I think when there is no occasion and you just spring them on a woman it usually has more value than if there is an occasion :p. But thats just by judging her reaction.

Overpriced. I'm not going to spend R200+ on something that will die in a few days. It's pretty much limited to circumstances, like when she's ill.

Other than that, the cash is better spent at a drive-in, or dinner, or pretty much anything where there is a tangible benefit to both of us.
 
Get her a Potato. Those things never die and actually start growing if you leave them somewhere dark :p
