How to cut out sugar?

How many apples would you put in a smoothie?
Look - obviously I agree that juicing 6 apples is a lot of sugar. But using a few pieces of fruit in a smoothie provides fiber, vitamins etc. that makes it way healthier that a teaspoon of sugar on cardboard.

Edit: Sorry...I'll reply properly later :). I'm rushing this now.

I sometimes boil a couple of eggs while I shower and eat them with a nice big tomato. Quick and easy.

Yeah, or with an avo.

Bacon and eggs? Can be expensive, still better than the junk that's in most cereals. And not a mission at all.

I meant in terms of time. Mornings are usually a bit of a rush. Must just compensate.

And that keeps you full?
Sorry about this morning :).

My morning smoothies don't usually contain fruit. Those that do are usually a frozen banana and a whole mango with some oats. I don't juice the fruits - so I only add as much fruit to my smoothie as I would be able to eat if I chopped it up into a bowl. Non fruit smoothies are usually a few almonds, a tbsp each of chia & flax seeds, a bit of sesame or pumpkin seeds, coconut oil, cinnamon (regulates blood sugar, so a nice addition to smoothies) and about a teaspoon of honey & maybe some vanilla or cocoa powder. I wouldn't eat just a teaspoon of honey, but along with everything else I don't feel any kind of rush from it.

I agree that juicing 6 apples and drinking that all the time isn't healthy. There's no way a person can eat 6 whole apples - so nature kinda builds that sugar limiting factor into fruit and how much a person can consume.

Fruits come with a load of other benefits. I'm not too bothered about naturally occurring sugars in an amount of fruit I can comfortably eat in a single meal. Obviously I wouldn't advocate eating fruit at every meal. There's really no need at all to eat any foods containing refined sugars. If you take a few minutes to prepare your own food from whole ingredients - the last thing you need to worry about is sugar. As soon as your meals come from boxes and packets then yeah - you need to worry about it. Again - cut out refined & processed foods, make your meals from whole ingredients - and you really don't need to worry much about sugar & calories.

Cutting out sugar is a walk in the park its actually sticking to it 3 months down the line.

You'd be surprise
I didn't seem to go through any kind of cravings. We're obviously different people though. If you can lift you can cut out sugar bro :p. You trying to cut it out at the moment?

Not me I am chilled with no sugar, just referring to average joe and jane.

My parents and friends and other relatives for example. Sugar is an 21st century addiction

If it works for you then good - I just know I'd be hungry again before I even get to work...

Agree with the whole foods though. The minute you need to read ingredients you are looking for trouble. I just notice that if I eat 1 small fruit a day I actually feel bloated and like I put on weight so for me its best not to have them.

I cant imagine anyone going gold turkey cutting out all sugar 1 day and keep it up. My sugar usage was decreased over time, and it has worked very well for me, been doing it for almost 2-3 years now.

Coffee is easy. Used to take 2 spoons sugar, reduced it to 1 spoon, stick with that for a few months, then half a spoon, for like 2 weeks and then completely removed it. Now enjoy coffee without sugar.

Sugary drinks was easier to do cold turkey, I just stopped buying them, then all of a sudden your choices of drinks at home and work becomes less quick quick. And that is how I did it for drinks. You tackle the foods separately, but in a very similar fashion and it isnt so hard.
