I then restarted and lo and behold windows searches for drivers and bam! I am on full fcn display so beautiful.

I use that application every time I need to install a new driver, especially with AMD as it goes haywire at times with CCC installs.

If anyone else is stuck waiting for the upgrade, you can use the tool on their website.

It didn't work straight for me, the tool just said "Something happened" and stopped. I got around that by going to Control Panel - Region - Administrative - Change system locale and changing it to English (United States).

It's downloading now, but painfully slowly.

The upgrade to Win 10 Pro from 7 Pro was smooth. The only problem is the Microsoft Photo App is displayed but does not function.
Anyone else experience this problem?

My Windows 10 Pro installation is finally done, but I can't see any icons in the taskbar. Active apps do not place an icon in the taskbar, which has nothing but a start button, search bar and multitasking button. Not even a clock in the bottom right corner.

I used the ISO upgrade and bashed Activate a lot of times and then it activated.
So that confirms an upgrade via the iso download will eventually activate?
Does it ask for your existing Win 7 or 8 serial key to activate?

Did you just select upgrade?

Nope not at all.Don't change anything on the activation page.Just keep hitting activate and it will eventually do an activation.

Servers were busy and that's whats causing the "Try again Later" message when activation does not work.

Yup. Download finished late last night, installed and went to bed. When I woke up it was done, did the first customisation part, downloaded new Nvidia drivers and it's good to go. :)

Looks pretty good. Snappy as hell.
Great man, tried everything last night to get it to upgrade but nothing. Will do this morning.

I am a little peeved that my 95 year-old father, who lives in the UK, has already received the update to Win 10.

His laptop was running 8.1 and now Win 10. He had no problems, and all seemed to go smoothly.

I spend hours on Skype with him, several times a week, trying to explain how to do simple things like creating a folder, or attaching a file to an email.

And here he is now, with an upgraded OS, with me stuck on Win 8.1.

I reserved the Win8 update, but so far no sign of it being downloaded. I am wondering if US & European countries get it first, with SA getting it much later?

I downloaded mine last night and installed this morning. No issues whatsoever. Just need to update my graphics driver but so far is very smooth and is alot more responsive than my laptop was with Windows 7 Home. Well done Microsoft.
