Just realised that when I log on to for eg. www.iol.co.za, the embedded video automatically plays vid and audio.

Is there a way to stop Chrome from automatically doing this - or is it the website that should first require one to click play rather than just doing its own thing ?

Link to one of the pages that does it?

Does not happen here but I also have AdBlock & FlashBlock extensions installed.

Ive checked your link, it doesnt happen when I open, Do you have flashblock?

Have done the flashblock thing and now no embedded videos play - but

All done? Head over to a page that would normally load a plugin to test it out, like YouTube. You’ll see that the Flash plugin is blocked, but you can click to enable it on a particular page. You’ll also notice a new icon up in the address bar, in case the plugin doesn’t show on the page, from which you can enable the plugins just this time, or always.

I don't get the icon they refer to - just get a message saying 'you need a flash plugin to play this video'
