How young is too young?

At 17, in school and working 7 days a week - In these circumstances I see a high probability that the kid is vulnerable... If that's the case then don't take advantage even if she protests her independence or maturity - you alone are in the responsible position to evaluate her real situation best, in doing so use your head and not your cockhead....
 
Don't listen to the guys here. they are just afraid of hunting in their reserved agegroup as they feel they are realistically no match to a huy somewhat older.
Go for it!
Don't believe it will be forever but enjoy every day as it will be the last and treat her like the gentleman you are just don't forget the experienced part in the nights.

You will both profit and even should you part in a year or two the memory and friendship can stay - one of the few situations a man and a woman can part and really stay friends.

Me and SO is 9 years apart, I know 2 other couples one in their 60’s that is 12 years apart, and all of us are happy.
I think it has something to-do with stages of your life.
Problem that you will face is her current stage in life, young and still childish. They can look mature because of tough times, but when you try to give them advise on issues, they don’t grasp the idea.
Was there, done that, got the T-Shirt.

If it is only to take out to movie and dinner now and then, why not?! But, there is a chance that you would start liking her, and then what are you going to-do?
Like others suggested, watch out for not becoming a father figure, then your feelings towards each other doesn’t match and it is you that would get hurt, she would move on to other guys, and only years later she would think about you the same way as you did at the beginning. (and maybe regret that)

Your feelings would be much safer if she were over 24…

On second thoughts - just go for it. You created this thread to see if anybody would say it is an acceptable thing to do and some have.

Besides, you'll be missing the pedophile thing by a whole year and a bit. Just don't pull this stunt in the DRC, they'll throw your ass in jail.

EDIT: I see Kenya's age of consent is 12 so if this doesn't work out...

If you have a good heart, give her what she needs in her life and just make sure you're not making her life worse by being in it. A lot of women are attracted to older men for their maturity, experience and intelligence. She herself could be craving maturity and respect because at her age, a lot of people still treat young people with disrespect simply due to age, make sure you give that to her and listen to her.

Also understand society tend to frown upon such big age differences, but it's not society getting involved in this relationship, it's between the two of you
 
Big age differences are only a problem when one of them is still very young in school and basically still a child. Once the younger party is in their 20's nobody really cares.
 
Well everyone has always said girls are more mature by 3 years...That would make her 20...

My two cents: no matter how mature she seems she's got a lot of growing to do as a person. It's a good thing and great to see if you're not attached but, it will **** you up if you've got to deal with her changing attitudes. Could work but you'd have to be very secure in yourself. Otherwise, just enjoy it as a for now thing. Show her the finer things in life, help her out where you can and enjoy watching her grow but don't get attached.
