HP ProLiant MicroServer

It looks like NL40L with GT 1030 become an ultimate video player.

Tested some representative jelly fish HEVC 8 and 10 bit samples with 1080p HDMI monitor.

All played fine. The last one 4K HEVC Main 10 supposed to have sound as well, but it did not come out. PC with Sylake i3-6100T CPU completely failed on this one.

YouTube 4K sample called "VP9 Profile 2 HDR #1 - The World in HDR" played superb smooth with crystal clean and sharp picture (to sharp in my opinion). It looked to me more computer-generated image than a real video. Probably GPU is generating 3D effects and fog. The most artificial look was giving a motorbike throwing up soil into air when spining - many particles were square or a regular geometric shape!

Summary: You're looking for a FLEX PSU of ~200W.
Flex ATX: 150mm x 81.5mm x 40.5mm -
Spec says dimensions, fans and input at rear, cable out in front. But is says nothing about the number of output connectors. So, as long as you are creative and it ourputs enough power, you can use adapters or even a soldering iron :)

I have bought a second hand HP ProLiant Micro server 1.5-GHz processor , one of the 1st one out ML range. when switch on the HP light up but with an orange colour and not the traditional white light... I suspect that I have a mother board failure Part number 661787-001.
Is there someone who would able to assist with another board or where can I source one.

Microserver Gen 10 X3421
Ram: 16GB
SSD: 240GB
HDD: 1TB
OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Essentials edition

Working fine. Invested in GT1030 a year ago and is still running strong. No reason to sell. :)

I reckon with cheaper online services from data storage to media streaming, there is limited use cases for multi-disk micro-servers unless you using it to prototype dev, local back up & home automation.. all of which can be handled with something like an Intel Nuk. I'm actually thinking of selling mine (N54L) as i don't actually use mine and the stuff i run on the vm can be handled by a small cloud instance @R50/mo.

I just came to this post to recommend CME, but can't believe I didn't find your post sooner...
I searched everywhere trying to find a Flex ATX PSU locally but didn't have a lot of luck.
I purchased one from BoB, but unfortunately, it only had a 20-pin ATX MB connector.

I searched around a lot more, and eventually came across CME, and ordered the KT-U200FX 200w PSU.
It arrived promptly this morning and a finished fitting it a little while ago. All 3 mounting screws line up perfectly.
Microserver is booting up perfectly now!
It unfortunately only comes with 1 Molex connector, but the microserver needs 4 for the HD's, so I cut off the floppy power connector and joined in 2 serial Molex connectors, as I only have 3 drives. It does come with 1 SATA connector for an additional SSD or optical drive.
Service from CME was exceptional.

My n54l is finally dead. 6 years of great service. I dont even feel like trying revive it. Let it rest :)

I've done quite a bit of business with CME, good guys to find a lot of strange things.
Just for the record, you also get a 20 to 24 pin converter cable. I have one in my study somewhere :)

I thought something like that might've been available. For anyone readying this, I have a 250w PSU with a 20-pin ATX connector.

My n40L ran for over 6 years (possibly even longer), 24 / 7 / 365 as well. Only offline now since upgrading to a Core i5 server.
It's now used as a backup location.

Checked mine now and the operating system was installed in 2011 :p The only time it was off was during load shedding.

Thanks morkhans for the update.
Once I updated the BIOS and reset the BIOS to defaults it then booted into windows.
I'm still getting an AHCI error on port 0 (I'm not wondering if it's on the hard drive itself), but at least it boots.

I also installed another of the new Power Supplies into another Microserver and it words perfectly.
So the verdict is - this PSU is the one to get as a replacement...

Sorry to drag up this old post but looking for any advice.

My NL54 was dead, not powering up and no indicator lights.

I eventually had some time this weekend to replace the power supply with FSP150-50LH.

It now has the power button and HP logo flickering amber (extremely quickly and continuously).

Any ideas what would cause this or if I can check anything else?
