HTC DESIRE HD

7:00am. Glad to see you're finally awake.
Right, let's get cracking on getting our phone then !
:)

LOL....I've been up since 6. :)

I've got a feeling we'll only get our phones in another week..........however, I visited the MTN upgrade page again & see all the options are duplicated now. e.g. select HTC Desire HD with Anytime100 package. Which must mean that MTN has actually loaded the phone on their system.

Going through the GSMArena review.
A bit bummed about the "disappointing audio quality" and the "XviD playback issues". I was hoping to get some good sound out of it with my JBuds!
You think they can fix this via a future firmware/software patch or is the audio hardware doomed?

No, it's because they got both the models now - the black and the brown... just kidding :)

I emailed MTN and told them I'm due for an upgrade. A day later called and when I told them I wanted an HTC Desire HD, the kind affirmative said "you'll have to wait till the end of the month". So the next day I called our corporate account lady at MTN and she said "no problem, I have stock". 5 days later she finally responds via email with the upgrade form, but she included a quote for the HTC Touch 2 . WHAT PART OF DESIRE don't you understand??? I emailed her back and politely requested she requote me. I STILL haven't heard from here 2 days later.

I am a bit worried about this as well. And unfortunately I'm still on an iPhone 3G, which has some of the best audio quality in the business.

However, I think the audio quality can be fixed with very good earphones, but we're screwed with the ringer volume. People mentioning that the phone doesn't ring very loud & the speaker is crappy.

Lot of MTN & Vodacom staff getting it wrong. Maybe they only hear what they want to hear. :wtf:

FYI I think LEAF is to blame, MTN has been quite Effecent up till now. so from me it's a "Big up to MTN!"
Just gotta (and I quote) "...Keep the faith..."

You have to. :)

I'm overly excited, cos people that went from the iPhone 3G & 3GS to Desire HD reckon you'll be pleasantly surprised with the speed & responsiveness of the phone - just what I wanted to hear!
