HTC DESIRE HD

Sure thing. Going to go sit on his lap right now and whisper your concerns in his ear while I stroke his hair! hehehe.

MTN dont have a Talk 100 Koning.....please can you provide me with the correct package? I want to see something.

LOL....when you sit on his lap, just give him a good klap behind the ears for our expensive broadband as well. :p

Sorry, it's a MTN Anytime 100 topup. Apparently the topup is a new thing from MTN, if you spend more than R249 a month, you need to top up your account. Won't allow you to go over it. Very nice from MTN.

OK koning...had a squiz at that package. Two things. The normal subs on that package is supposed to be R100.00. You paying R200.00 something. So they loading a payment plan on, similar to what we have on some deals. Secondly, check those call rates!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES! They will make their money back quicker than you can say "OC is a horny bastard!" :-)

hehe....it is an expensive package, but I'm just using it as a backup phone. Don't have a Geldbom landline, so this is my "landline", should something go wrong with my Vodacom sim.

Don't fret, my Desire HD has got my Vodacom sim in it. ;)

LOL@MTN

I put my name on the waiting list. no one in this backward village besides me wants it, the worst part about this is i live in cape town, but im on december vacation at my parents (I study at UCT)

ive had 2 false alarms where the lady on the phone said they have the HTC Desire in stock, but i had to tell them that i want the HD OMG PLS!!!!!

The dhd is cheaper than the original desire? On MTN, and no data, not even the usual 75 mb 'smartphone' deal

Yup, sucks hey...? I'll be chancing my luck with VM and seeing how that works out for me. Their billing issues can't be too much worse than MTN's so if it's not an "upgrade" then at least I'm already equipped with the fighting spirit to sort things out...lol :)

I was kinda expecting mtn to add some data but they didn't even bother :(

yeah, funny eh? they did it with the other new HTC's like the Trophy etc. But us guys with the daddy android phones must take out an extra data contract, and it's not like we get a discount on the phone for doing so:wtf:

Loving reading all the advice and fun everyone is having with their phones but feeling a little left out at the mo :( Tomorrow is ment to be my big day guys so lets hold thumbs and hope they deliver!!

your royal highness rob, pls help.

Sorry for being stupid but, before I purchase a nav lic. for HTC Locations (Route66), I need to find out how to save you own "bookmarks" (e.g. locations of all my clients).
I seem to be getting my "pins and "footprints" mixed up. And, if I close and open all is gone again!

oK gUyS, are your favorite xvids's out-of-sync when playing using stock media player under "videos" ?
No problem, just get vPlayer from Android Market !

Top apps added so far:
ASTRO - file manager / .apk installer
Angry Birds
#G Watchdog - manage your 3G usage
Smart Monitor Lite - now you can manage your WiFi usage to!
vPlayer
MX Moto
Pool Break Pro
Quickoffice

Heh there, having an absolute jol with my new HD.

its by far the best phone I've had, just 1 or 2 niggling things... the phone tends to get quite slow when battery gets low (charging it also makes phone hot and slow). Also, the operating system seems a bit unstable - I imported a couple of sms from my blackberry and on first reset it sent all of those messages to the people that sent them to me. A few days later it does it again!! Over R50s sms'!

Any1 got any ideas? (also, can't seem to find a local place that sells accessories - want a screen protector and a pouch!)

No problem. You need to put the 'My location' widget somewhere on a screen & then flip over to 'Footprints'. There you have the option to save as many locations as you want, tap on it & select premium navigation, walk, etc. You can edit the location name & basically change anything you like.

Hope this helps. ;)

*You have footprints on the "car panel" menu as well, but it just works easier for me on the widget. You'll see three icons at the bottom of my location, the pin drop, then three bars and a little footprint with a + sign. Tap on the three bars and you get the whole shebang.

Glad you're having fun!

When the battery gets low, the power saver kicks in & that will slow things down a bit, as the phone is trying to squeeze as much juice as it can out of the remaining battery life.

Not sure about the SMS thing, I didn't import my old smses to my Desire HD. But I can imagine you got a lot of smses back? All good fun. :)

Best place to order accessories for the Desire HD seems to be www.expansys.co.za at the mo....hopefully we'll get more places to order from soon.

Yeah, it's crappier.

The MyTalk 100 was actually 100 minutes (if memory serves me right), but AnyTime 100 is just R100 worth of airtime + 25 smses. Whoopy Doo!

I see that you can get the FNB Connect softphone from the market as well ... I suppose you can blow the airtime on the data usage for 25c/min calls ... :)

Much appreciated! Funny, I really like the iPhone 4, but after getting used to the HD screen cant help but feel constrained with the old retina :)
