HTC DESIRE HD

Well im pretty stoked. Unplugged my phone yesterday at 4 am. Used bluetooth on and off for a while, used the gps navigation (with the smooth scrolling map looks awsum!) recieved and made several calls, had wifi on and off and 3g hsdpa on for few hours and live wallpaper and as of 6 30am this morn i've still got 5 bars :)

Sounds great. Battery life still sucks for me at the moment but overall it's a really great phone. I just hope they release a high mA battery soon and not half way through next year.

AND we need to start a separate APPS thread with someone who's willing to to constantly update the first post with suggested apps....? :D

Need some help please guys, Im new to linking contacts and the DHD keeps suggesting contacts to link. When you link a contact what are you actually doing? Are you linking them to facebook so you get their status updates?

No. These phones pull contact details from, and store them on various platforms; gmail, exchange, facebook, htcsense.com etc. All you're doing by linking them is adding a little data string to the contact on gmail informing the phone that 2 or more sets of data are of the same person. It cuts down on duplicates showing up in your People app and dialler.

Ok awsum! Thanks for the help, gotta say I love the way this phone has a contacts e mail, sms, facebook status etc all updated and ready for you when you select that contact. very impressive!

Lol, yeah very happy :) Still trying to figure everything out which is no easy task, especially apps that use data whenever they feel like it.

CrazYmonkeY159, I feel your pain!

I'm chilling with my Desire HD at the mo. Got the new Black Eyed Peas pumping on my Sennheiser earbuds & Facebooking a bit, before I tackle Angry Birds again! :)

Then I want to check the quality of my AVI rip of Green Zone a bit later & hear if Dolby Mobile can still impress me as it did with Salt (Angelina Jolie).

What I can tell you is, that when you eventually get your phone - and I hope it's really soon - you wont be able to put it down.

Simply the best phone I've ever owned.

I'm gonna need a bigger memory card soon, my 8GB SD card is almost full. :(

Let's see if Esquire is running a good deal on a 32GB one.

Yeah, it's a bit overwhelming at first, especially if you've changed from iOS and iPhone world, like myself. But you eventually get the hang of it.

Enjoy your new superphone. ;)

I'm trying my best ;) This is coming from symbian so it's not difficult adjusting to the basic stuff but when it comes to the phones management of things then I'm a bit lost.

Just discovered the app camscanner, awesome app that takes pic of document crops and enhances it automatically and then puts into a pdf file. Now thats the kind of thing I like about android, useful apps :)

But for this to work you apparently have to do it every time.......

According to the the first post in the thread you only do it once?

This battery charging regimine is a one time operation. if you need to do this more than once a month, I would talk to Sprint about a replacement battery, but with the batteries we are looking into the issue further.

I found my first little scratch on my screen, is a very short and faint less than a hair line scratch but ja, you don't notice it unless you look for it in good light.

Oh well I must just be more careful.

Hmmm, I read through the rest of the thread where a few mentioned that it needs to be done constantly. I'm also gonna try it though. Please let us know what type of battery power you experience on your next normal charge.

Fsck that, I'm gonna go get myself a screen protector!

Guys how are the quality of the photos that you have taken...? I like that the phone auto-focuses but I hate that it doesn't just take the picture after it has focused. Quite often when I press the button when taking a photo I find that the movement at that time causes image blur. Anyone have a solution to this...?
