Do any of you guys sometimes experience lag from your phones? It has happened to me a couple or times now, like when I switched my phone on once, and while typing an sms as well. It's like the phone just freezes, and then it takes about 20 seconds to come back to life. I tried a software update via the phone itself, but it says its up to date. Possible OBF? Works 100% fine 99% of the time.

That's seriously cheap. What class memory?

I found my first little scratch on my screen, is a very short and faint less than a hair line scratch but ja, you don't notice it unless you look for it in good light.

Oh well I must just be more careful.

Once you put on a good screen guard, you won't be able to see any minor scratches. Get a cheapie from a cell shop while you wait for your order to arrive. That's what I do.

According to my dealer pricelist it's a new item.

I was doing a deal for kingrob but if you want let me know.

After I login to phone it takes 40sec for the SD! symbol to go. Is this normal? Sometimes it also freezes a bit when I scroll the app menu.

Yes, it takes a few seconds to prepare the memory card, I think it does a check with apps loaded on it, etc. Haven't timed mine, but not 40 seconds. More like 5 seconds.

Arent those memory cards normal sd cards, i.e. Not micro sd, not even mini sd, thats why they are cheap. I think 32gb on micro sd is still only class 6 max. Just my 2c

That's the way I understand it too. Do you get class 10 Micro SD now? afaik a class 4 would be fine, class 6 would make no difference as the phone wouldn't be able to utilize the speed difference.

Don't bother. It's a placebo effect. Task killers don't do much on Froyo if anything.

What do you mean?

Why need task killers? I missed something?
Desire HD got it's own management of apps.
All apps|Settings|Applications|Manage applications|Running
Select application to check and you can force stop/Uninstall/Move to SD or phone memory/ etc.

Just realised that I'm totally screwed with this phone.

I simply CANNOT put it down, no matter how hard I try (and the reason the battery life sucks donkey balls). Just as I'm about to let it rest for a minute , I see another cool tip/app from MegasXLR in the tips/tricks thread, and I pick it up again. Not even my iPhone had me so addicted. :(

So, this is what I'm gonna do :

1. Ask my sister to go and bury it somewhere where I cannot find it.

2. Go and buy an el-cheapo Nokio.

Me thinks it's the only way I can save myself from this "evil" phone.

Wont help! We have htc sense! Can locate it easily enough!

Charted you're right. I made a boo-boo.

Tested it again. Shutdown phone, removed/reinstalled SD, switched on, entered SIM password and as soon as the home page came up I timed it.
35sec on the dot. I've used only 3677MB - just less than 1/2 of the 8GB.
Does anyone else here have this type of delay with their SD card at +/- 50% full?

My SD card has 2.3 GB left, but only takes 5 seconds to be ready. I think there is something wrong with that card.....

Might also cause lag, cos there are apps installed on your card.

GPS Navigation

Ok, So I have questions about the GPS and navigation on the phone:
Firstly I am very used to Garmin on my old phone which I loved using, unfortunately it's not available on Android(other than asus phones)

--Which programs or apps DON'T use data when using the GPS (ie. the maps are already installed )
--Which ones are you guys using...?

I really miss my Garmin :(

Honestly dont know why everyone is stressing so much about the navigation on this phone, I mean its only 280 bucks to upgrade! you get south africa which for 90 percent of ppl is all they gonna use, the voice is clear and the smooth scrolling screen just looks gorgeous! it works perfectly as well! if you want a high end specific navigation source then go buy a R3000 device!

I liked my OVI Maps on my Nokia. Do they have an android version yet?
