You won't find anything there, HTC and the carriers work together to release an update in the country ... once vodacom/mtn knows it is working ... it will be available from the menu ...
If you really really want to install it, you have to download the update ... put it on the root of your SD Card, and do recovery to get the new version on (not too sure , but you might loose data doing it this way) ... I haven't done it myself so I cannot confirm.
 
The really nice news is that we will also get Honeycomb on our phones (just don't ask when, we're still waiting for Gingerbread!).

I actually watched the video where Engadget interviewed Google's man for the Android UI experience & he said Honeycomb will automatically detect if it's running on a tablet or phone & adjust screen res accordingly. Very exciting!

*Honeycomb won't use any hardware buttons, but if you have hardware buttons on your phone, you can still use it.
 
OK, I've gone a bit overboard (understatement of the year) and got way too many pouches! Anyone in the Durban area needing pouches - you can meet me and I'll show you my variety - either that or I open up my own store! I will give it to you at the prices I got it from, so it will be very good prices! I've got screen protectors as well. Finally found the pouch that I like!

While there have been a few people who’ve dropped hints saying that Honeycomb will be compatible with Android phones, we’ve yet to get a real confirmation that Honeycomb will be hitting anything other than tablets. Well, it seems Engadget recently got a chance to sit down with Matias Duarte, the WebOS designer lead that Google snatched up for Android, and it does indeed look like Honeycomb will reach phones, but may look a bit different when it hits those smaller screens. With the rumors of Android Ice Cream Sandwich hitting this summer as version 2.4, could this be the Honeycomb equivalent that is built for phones?

Thanks, Kingrob. I did this, and I expressly told the (same) lady that I will switch on the phone at home. I did that, and the battery cover was easy to open and put back, so I guess that I was lucky today. Very happy about this. :-)

I must say that this is one sexy, extremely customisable phone. I will be charging the phone tonight after I've let it run the battery flat. I will be doing some serious exploration this weekend (I have some serious commitments over the coming days, so little to no chance of playing with my Desire HD after work).
 
Anyone on MTN gotten thier MMS to work?

I cannot send or recieve it seems, i recieve a prompt to download the message then when i do, it tells me "generic network faillure" after 2 minutes of waiting. what do?

Here is my battery life with the new Leeroid ROM ...

I got about
46 hours Up time
10 hours Awake time

The wifi is on for 16 hours a day ...
FB and mail syncing hourly ...
A little bit of Angry Birds and Video/Music ...

I would say little to moderate usage ...
 
Hmmm that does seem like a bit of an improvement to me.

I sync mail (gmail and exchange) have skype running wireless permanently on and I get just more than a day.

yeah if you read a bit further back you should have seen that i called mtn and they sorted it out for me, my phone already
had the settings all they did was disable and re enable mms on their side and after rebooting my pone all was well.
Took all of 2 min

Yes, and lost my ROOT, without a easy way to get it back ;-(

Phone was also pretty unstable for about a day (slow downs and randomly rebooting), but are ok now.

Seems HTC have stopped the 2.2.1 roll-out for now. Probably because all the issues that arose after the update.

Also a recent fix to roll-back, that I have not tried yet. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003


PS: My phone was bought through an UK Online shop and I did a OTA update late Dec.

I'm more interested in which one is the best pouch, in your opinion, and if you don't have any spare pouches of that, where can I get it from?
 
Storage of apps and widgets...

I'd like to know where you guys store your apps and / or widgets; do you store it on the phone memory or on the SD card?
