Well that's just farking great. The battery ran dead, I recharged it and when turning it, it asked for some fastboot or something. It then redid the initial setup..... and everything I'd downloaded is gone. WTF!?!?!?!?!?

Howsit guys, Just a couple questions to the rooters out there, Ok im thinking bout taking that plunge. Ok first i wanna root my phone n try fiddling around before i flash a custom rom. Now will rooting cause all my apps and stuff to be deleted? esp my msgs. Cos some sites say I will, some say i wont, so i dont really know.
So basically I wanna know if my phone will be as it was just that its been rooted.
Iv been looking at the Leeroid sense 3.0 rom.Looks quite kewl. I know some of you guys are using it... Does it still include the sense facebook intregration and the locations app? or is it merely jus for visual pleasure?
also been looking at the miui rom, looks really diff and kewl.
anyway thats all i can think of asking now. Any advice is much appreciated.

Rooting is just that, getting root access to your phone, nothing else. think of it as getting administrator password to your windows pc

No clue what happened esp if you mention fastboot and doing set-up a second time? 2 things come to mind
1 Factory reset
2 Phone not playing nice, if repeated take back.

I downloaded it, but now I wish I didnt.
My phone stutters heavily when unlocking the sim card, does not feel silky smooth when using it, my Quadrant benchmark score has dropped from 2069 to 1434 and the phone has already randomly rebooted on me.
Not a happy camper.

No problems on my side, so far everything is very smooth. Never bothered to look quadrant scores previously. No random reboots yet.

No, in all honesty, I would be the happiest man if I could revert back to Froyo this very moment.
It feels more like HTC decided that its time to screw up the Desire HD, otherwise people might not buy the Sensation. The home screens are jerky, my internet banking not working, my complete music library is screwed up (Gingerbread decided my fav music folder with more than 300 songs, should now be done iTunes style and now I have more than 300 music folders with a single song in it).
If anyone can show me where's this gingerbread improvement on the phone, except for quick settings and this new style program folder, I would be delighted.
