HTC Diamond - Very Irritated!

Honestly I am not a iPhone hater, I actually think it is a good looking phone but I just don't get how it can lack some of the most obvious features like copy and paste or Bluetooth transfer. It also screams "fashion accessory" where the Diamond is a little more modest, but is packed with a really fantastic feature set. The size of the Diamond is also a big thing, no pun intended. It is slim and really sleek with a nice big bright screen. If you looking for all round small function packed phone, the Diamond is for you, otherwise get the iPhone and deal with the lack of some key features that could annoy you later on.

Have you got a Diamond? [EDIT: Oh ya, yo do :D] I would like to get an answer out of someone who does, so that it can be clear to me...

I played around on my friend's LG Viewty, and it was a bit (new technolog)'ish, where pushing sometime's didnt work correctly, and sometimes had to push twice etc.. Which was a bit frustrating.. I only tried for a quick time. And this was the first touch screen phone I've ever touched, so maybe it just takes a bit of getting used to..

But, how do you find the touch/"what you want to open" ratio? And it is easy enough to type sms's etc on the keyboard?

If you actually read this thread, which I actually created, you will notice and is rather obvious that I do indeed have a Diamond :D

The touch screen does take getting used to yes, but you will have it down in no time, the Diamond's screen is pretty sensitive, but not over sensitive, you have to apply a certain amount of pressure to activate the area you touch. You can also you the stylus, which I find handy for smsing, I can type a sms in pretty much the same time as I could on a hardware KB. Smsing with your fingers can be tricky if you have big fingers.
 
Yea.. I dont think I wanna pay the Virgin Mobile Price though, R600 a month is a bit hefty. I have emailed Cell C. See when my contract is due for an upgrade, should be anytime now, then have a look what the pay-in will be.

I am on the Cell C cashual chat 100 and I had to pay something like R3600, so I went for the Samsung F480....

Just phoned Mtn to see if my phone is ready as they said it would be by today, and guess what??? They had to send the phone BACK to Leaf because the phone FAILED its quality assurance test at Mtn yesterday! So obviously leaf didn’t stuff all checks on the phone, and took 3 weeks to "repair" it. Man i feel like killing someone. I’ve had the phone 5 weeks, 3 of which it has spent getting "repaired"
 
They should give you a new phone and finished, that is crappy service at its very best!!!! Perhaps you should try get hold of someone at Leaf and complain but someone high up on their company hierarchy...
 
Yeah I am so fed up its not funny! I have posted a complaint against Mtn on Hello Peter, lets see if they wake up. Actually I am going to post one on Leaf as well casue they are just as much to blame.
 
Yeah you don't expect this lack of service when you've just purchased a top end hand set. Imagine buying a Bentley and the electric windows don't work? The sales people would be falling over themselves to make sure the problem is resolved timelessly.... These chumps simply don't care. A 7k piece of hardware and 3 weeks later you sitting without a phone!!!! Bay!!!!
 
Yeah you hit the nail on the head. Problem is these dam service providers as well as the manufacturers are so dam arrogant that if you receive a faulty product and don’t take it back within 7 days, well tough luck. If its 8 days tough. You now have to deal with all the drama of getting it repaired, which as you can see from my scenario is a pain in the ass! Running up and down to dam service centers etc.
 
Well no surprise, I still haven’t heard a word from idiotic Mtn. It has now been almost a month my phone has been with them. I phoned the service center today and the women told me that my phone was sent back for repairs and should be back with them by the end of the week (i have heard that one before!)

Now I need some advice please, considering the phone was 2 weeks old, never worked from the start, was repaired once and failed Mtn testing and was sent back to Leaf a second time, I think I should demand a new phone, there is clearly something very wrong with this device and why should I settle for a phone that has been repaired twice, opened and fiddled with, and is only a month old! I seriously dont want that phone back, It is obviously a Monday morning phone and will probably always give me trouble! I am seriously considering telling them either they give me a new handset or they can shove their contract. The level of customer service in this country is up to maggets! :mad:
 
I think you should try to get a new handset. It seems with most electronics today that once it starts to give trouble it always gives trouble.

Have yet to get a phone repaired without trouble. Had a samsung E700 once. The software was going nuts. So I took it to the service agents. Was 3 weeks without it. When I phone the reply was " It was ready last week. did no one call you" All they did was a master reset. week later most problems was back.
MY current SE totally freezed up that not even the power button work. Took out battery. and did not come one again. Took it in. They reprogram it. But Every time I phone when is my phone ready, they say in 2 days. Got it eventually after 5weeks.

I agree service is non existing i the country. These days it's more a question of where do you get the least problems from.

Definitely. Any company with half decent service will replace your product or provide a refund if the repair takes longer than 30 days. Shame on MTN and Leaf!
