HTC Diamond - Very Irritated!

100% - The handset has most likely been opened up and messed around with and as you said once it starts to give trouble, it will always give trouble. Bottom line is the phone was 2 weeks old, not 2 years or even 2 months. I am going to insist on a new handset. I will never be happy with that phone knowing full well it is trouble. I guarantee it would be a matter of weeks before I have to send the darn thing back for something else.

Spoke to leaf today to find out exactly what deal is with my phone; apparently they have replaced the whole mother board and front section. They won’t give me a new one, but they said if anything is wrong with it from now on they will replace it. Should get it tomorrow. A little bleak its not getting replaced, but if anything, and i mean anything is wrong with it it will be going straight baack

Bloody hell, crap service indeed. I was so looking forward to the touch pro but quite frankly I don't want to support a company that has no idea about customer satisfaction.

I am also waiting for the Touch Pro. Quite concerned about this poor service :(

Leaf are realy &%$%^^ they do not care about the customer. you will see they did nothing with your phone

Seriously, god help them if that phone is not working...I am starting to think I should have just stuck with Nokia, never had a day's trouble with them.

Beri. I think this is actually the best thing to do. They cant freaken replace the whole thing, if its just the MBo thats faulty. They will lose too much money out of it. So they replace two parts.

But read Grim's post again. If anything is wrong again, they WILL replace the entire phone. How can you fault that? Nothing's wrong, he is smiling. Something is wrong, they will give him a new one :confused:

Yeah you right Kris, I don’t really care, I just want a functional phone back, and if it is not I trust they will stick to their word and replace it, I really don’t think they can afford to make promises like that and not stick to them. We will see. I must say that Leaf responded to my problem and actually did something positive about it, where as Mtn well that is another story.

True dude. And that's pretty good of Leaf. So they should be congratulated.

As you say, if something is wrong again, and they refuse to give you a new one, like they said, throw rocks through their windows :D

mmmm.. I disagree. The phone was returned faulty after only 8 days! They should have replaced it with a new one no questions asked and with no further delay or inconvenience to the customer. That they haven't is a disgrace afaik...

I have no problems with my Diamond - working fine - response is fast - battery life is acceptible - get 2-3 days on normal usage but I tether it to my PC at work and home to sync calendar etc and hardly ever connect it to the charger.
Loaded Garmin maps last night and its working fine with GPS as well.
This after I upgraded the Rom to version 1.97.xxx.x

Finally get to pick up my Diamond today!!! Only took them just over a month and numerous complaints on Hello Peter.

Hold thumbs. Hope it works for you dude.

You going to love this - Get to Mtn, wait around for 15 mins, get to an agent who hands me my phone in this mingy plastic bag, I take the phone out to check it and make sure all is ok, and guess what, it was FAR from ok. The first thing is the stylus no longer slips into the slot, as you know its help in by a magnet, now it just jiggles about and falls out the phone, then I open the back panel and it looks like a crazed cat went mental inside it, scratching it up nicely. The screws were threaded inside, it was one big massacre. Seriously, I am not an overly fussy person, but this was just ridiculous! I also notice that there is a protective plastic covering over the screen that you peel off, but no screen protector, which you get with the phone. Needless to say I went mental and told them I am not leaving till I have a new phone, with which the women told me was not possible. I then contacted Leaf who promptly contacted Mtn and instructed them to issue me a new phone. FINALLY! There was no way in hell I was going to settle for that repaired phone which now looks like it is 9 months old. Hell no. So I now after over a month of drama, have a new phone, let’s just hold thumbs that this one is ok.

Unbelievable. I sure hope things go better from now on, Grim.

On a side note, Leaf tell me that official local release of ROM 1.97 is imminent.

I've just returned from 3 weeks in the USA. While in an AT&T store setting up a family call plan for the kids (I have 3 at college in US) the store manager called over everyone to gawk at the TD. "Wow man - you guys in Europe sure get all the cool phones" they agreed. "We're stuck with the iPhone, and it's not nearly as neat as this. Man, it's so small!". Wherever I went people stopped and asked what phone that was. I also kept a daily backup of the laptop's 450MB Outlook PST file on the phone's internal storage, just in case the lappy went missing.

You really not going to believe this SH*T!!!!!!!!! The screen is screwed on this phone. I have a big yellow tinge at the bottom of the screen! I actually sit here in total disbelief.

Hoo boy. Bizarro.
Have you been angering the demons by being kind and generous? Don't let 'em win!

If I were you my next call would be a polite one to the MD of Leaf - the nicer you are the better your chances of a quick solution (these people are not personally at fault). His secy will probably take the call ... follow it up with the fax and email confirmation of your call. Politely insist that they deliver a new replacement to you at soonest as you are travelling tomorrow afternoon.
