Good Evening My Fellow Broswers :)

Just sending out this new thread to ask about everyones thoughts on the HTC Evo 3D?

Can I expect to see this phone in South Africa?
Why?
If so when?
Will it be available on the MTN network?
What do you think it will be priced at?

I'll start....

I certainly hope it will be out in South Africa, but doubt it will since we dont have 4G Network.
If it does come, I foresee it being an Vodacom Exclusive.
Price will probably be 300pm roughly.

Lets get this thread going....I'd love to know your thoughts....I would kill for this phone!! 2x5MP Cameras, 1.3MP Secondary Camera, GPS, Android 2.3 etc.

Do you guys see other 3D phones in the SA Market like the LG something ( I can never seem to remember the name)??

Doubt it'll come. There's already the LG 3D thingy, which means that the niche is already full, if leaf brings it out, they just going to make everyones margins smaller, and they won't really make too much profit off it. I think the sensation is a what we can expect though.
 
A leaked HTC Evo 3D ROM showed some info on carriers of the GSM version, including MTN and Vodacom in South Africa :) :)

Now that is FANTASTIC news!! Me needs to pre-order my Evo 3D, or wait for the quad-core phones that will be released later in the year.

Decisions, decisions. *sigh*

I was at Leaf on Sunday and told it wont come to SA :(. What about the LG Optimus 3D?....I will wait and upgrade my contract towards end of the year with the hope HTC will change their mind.

I dont believe anything that Leaf says. Vodafone will get the Evo 3D & also means Vodacom.
 
I might be wrong, but as far as I know, Sprint in the US has got right on the name EVO, but HTC will release the phone here still under another name, perhaps the HTC Rider. There isn't a lot out regarding this, but that could be why the Leaf person told you that the EVO 3D isn't coming here ...
 
HTC said the Evo 3D will be a world phone, so it might get a different name in other countries, but will still be the same phone.
 
Ya, Desire HD is a great phone...I would settle for it but personally I just hate the colour. I wish they would bring the Black HTC Desire HD to SA!! but unfortunately its a Europe exclusive :(

I saw that it was said to have an 8MP Camera?? 2x8MP Cameras would be great but seems highly unlikely!

Is there a Telekom Service Provider in SA?? Or Is It referring to Heita, I suppose this would make sense.

I was also keen for this phone until hearing of the death grip problem as well as HTC's poor response to the issue!!:confused:

Can't find any more recent news on the "HTC Rider", maybe just a rumour?

I'm interested in the Sensation as well . But there's so much mixed reviews regarding the Sensation... Some say they expected more and others say it's a great flagship phone...

Fully understand what you're saying....the big debate on the internet right now is which phone to choose - the HTC Sensation or the Samsung Galaxy S2.

The Galaxy S2 is a powerhouse of a phone, make no mistake, but the Sensation is not far behind. In the end, Sense 3.0 has swung my vote.

Touchwiz just doesn't do it for me.

*Think I'm gonna phone Leaf to find out what's happening to the Evo 3D, saw that the Engadget review was really biased.

Let us know what they said.
The EVO 3D is definitely going to be released by Vodafone UK, so maybe us Vodacom'ers in RSA have a chance.
