I used to be an HTC fan in the days of the one X but the crappy cam on the last two "One's" has left me uninterested in them.

It does look like they have finally learnt though and put a proper 13mp cam on the new One mini,but I'll be giving the m8 a skip.

@falcon, cam on the mini was for cost reasons. Its cheaper to go for that sensor than their UltraPixel sensor. Also take a look at the picture quality of the M8 vs Mini. They are pretty much the same with the exception of the M8 being better in low light, 13MP does not compute into proper camera...

Anandtech has the M8 beating the S5 in audio tests which is a big win in my books. And if you feel like voiding your warranty (which I will be doing) this thread on XDA improves the camera quality massively: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743174

For those who may have been trying to get this device on an MTN contract since the article went up, we've received a complaint that the shops don't even have the device listed for order.

Here's the official response from MTN on the issue:

"The HTC One M8 stock is at the MTN warehouse, and soon to be distributed to all the stores." --Mike Fairon, General Manager: Products and Solutions
