yep i saw the possible fix and stuff
but are there one x owners in south africa that have this issue?

reason i ask is a friend of mine has a one x and has no wifi issues and seems his model is not one of the ones found to be faulty, hoping mtn has gotten a good batch..

I understand yes, was merely providing users here with a way to "test" if they indeed have a faulty unit of not. :)
 
No wifi issues that I've noticed. Brilliant phone.
 
No issues with my wifi here, actually holds a signal better than my old phones, my tablet, laptops, etc...
 
anyone have a problem when switching airplane mode off. I only seem to get reception or wifi after a reboot?

I've flashed a custom ROM to my phone because after rooting, I wasn't able to get the HTC update installed. I didn't want to go through the rigmarol of unrooting to install it either.

I have installed LeeDroid Sense which has the 1.29.401.11 update included as well as some other nifty features like S Voice (from the SIII), Sony Bravia Video Engine, and HTC Sense among other things. I must say LeeDroid Sense is a huge improvement over the stock ROM. The whole device feels more responsive, and the display even looks sharper (not sure if its the Bravia engine or the brightness).

best phone I've ever used. Waiting for this phone was the right decision! Too stoked with it!
 
just spoke to a friend of mine on the same version

he says it does come back on but it takes about a minute and 10 seconds
thats very long. my desire s does it in a few seconds
but it does come on.hope htc will fix it

Ordered mine from Expansys yesterday, he's hoping the "5 days from order" lead time is accurate :/
 
One thing that has impressed me is the accuracy of the keyboard. I am pretty sure o am.placing my thumbs in the general direction of the correct letters and it is auto correcting perfectly.

Never typed so fast while my correct letters per minute was so low.

I can highly recommend Swiftkey 3. Amazing keyboard with the best predictive text, layout and customization I've come across. Its still in beta phase so its free and you will need to register on the forum to download it (vip.swiftkey.net/). I have been using it extensively for a while and haven't experienced any issues as a result of it being in beta.
 
Can the one x be used as a flash drive? Or do I need software to access the internal storage?

When you plug it into a USB port it will ask you on the phone if you want it to be Mass Storage or something like that and it works like a regular flash drive thereafter.
