Yip, I don't mind if they repair if they do a good job and if the fixes we've seen people do at home takes 15 minutes they shouldn't need to keep the phones for days or weeks. I think it is bad PR enough for HTC that there is a problem with their flagship that they should ensure their service departments fix them easily and quickly...

Oh awesome. Thanks gents. Now if only they had a branch in P.E....

Anyone know what happened to the Leaf branch in P.E? They just disappeared.

give it a shot and let us know, we all holding thumbs
and yes it should be a quick fix as per video.but we dont know what htc head office has instructed repair centres to do..either way we hope they fix it quick.im sure they will do a good job and not damage your phone.they are official repair centre

waiting to know your outcome

give them a call, ask them what should you do
i think if you send your phone to mtn (if you got it from them) they will send it to the repair centre closest

I will wait a month or so to make sure the one's we get are the 'fixed' one's, I don't want to battle with repair/replacement etc as Leaf (HTC supplier) in SA are petty useless... will wait for 27******* serial number, 23, 24 & 25 are confirmed for having the issue, 26***** may be the 'transition' one but 27****** should be the one with the revised production process (as HTC put it)...

Thanks, that is VERY useful. How did you get this out of them - thought they would have kept that info to themselves to avoid people not taking up existing stock....

Trying to phone them the whole morning. Just rings and rings and rings.

Anyone running 2.05.401.2 firmware? What changes are there?

For those that are lucky enough to already have an HTC One X, can you plug in a flash disk and access the files (USB OTG) i.e. play media off external storage? What about a 2.5" HDD? Please test and let us know. If it's a "yes" then the Internal Storage limitation isn't too much of a trainsmash. It seems to be disabled by default from what I have read. The next question is, what filesystem is the internal storage (can it handle say a 10GB HD MKV file..) but we can get to that one later...

by default the one x can not do usb otg, so no it wont work sadly
s3 does usb otg

Phoned Regernisis(sp)

They couldn't help me. They said they weren't aware of the WiFi problem. Said they would phone me back, never did. Cancelled the contract today with MTN and took the phone back. Will wait till the newer versions are released in SA.

Did mtn just take it back? What tests did they do. I want to take mine tomorrow.
My seven day period ends on Saturday.

I actually don't want to take the phone back, it is gonna suck to go back to my blackberry.

I'll have to see what mtn says tomorrow.
Which branch did you visit?

Just go prepared.

Print out a copy of HTCs statement about the WIFI and say that all HTC One X phones up until last week is effected. It wont hurt to have proof when you tear the manager a new one when he refuses.

I already have a copy printed. Meant to go already but never had the time.
Printed the article off gsmarena.

I'll update here tomorrow on the results.
