I flashed B602 EMUI 3.0 its really smooth no lags. As far as I know it's a beta no official release yet. You don't need root or custom recovery.

Nope but user have said they got better performance after factory reset then update, but just backup everything with HI suite

Is there unbranded firmware? I'd like to upgrade mine, but don't want vodacom.
