11.0.5.6What's the latest firmware for this device...?
Nope.Does this device have SQM ( Smart Queue Management )?
Nope.
I know this is a bit of a necro...Indeed. It backwards compatible with the WS5200 and other Huawei routers too.
In my experience, no. It didn't work back when I had both AX3 and WS5200. I don't know if recent updates to firmware may have solved this issue, but I couldn't get it to work back then (a year, maybe two back). I ended up with 2x AX3's to solve my meshing issue.I know this is a bit of a necro...
I bought an AX2, but it didn't work well at all - the only thing I could get it to do (after a lot of support from Huawei) was use it as a repeater - which doesn't help as then I can only repeat either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz, and not have both available.
So if I buy an AX3 instead, will I be able to keep keep my WS5200 as primary, and add the AX3 as a secondary using the HiLink Mesh?
So I should try locate another WS5200?In my experience, no. It didn't work back when I had both AX3 and WS5200. I've never worked with two WS5200 in a mesh so I can't speak to that.So I should try locate another WS5200?
Afrihost one with custom firmware? You can flash the original firmware here http://update.hicloud.com/download/data/pub_13/HWHOTA_hota_900_9/8b/v3/GMFGALe9SSGryfagez1znw/WS7100-20_10.0.5.33_main.binIn my experience, no. Thanks. Will keep it in mind. I'm currently using the Xiaomi mesh system I won here on MyBB so a bit over the Huawei's. I'll consider it when I redo my parents network and things don't work like I want it to.Afrihost one with custom firmware? Yes there will be 2 (?) ota updates after you flashed that one. Latest firmware is 11.0.5.6Thread necro.
I've loaded this firmware on both AX3s and have them in a mesh setup at my parents house. Still can't get the WS5200 to mesh with them. Any chance there's a different firmware I could use? The WS5200 says it's on the latest (version 10.0.2.19)
The AX3a both show that they have an update waiting so not sure if I should update them (current 10.0.5.33, new version 11.0.5.5). I guess there's no risk as I can just reflash them. But that sounds like a pita.
Correct yes. Updated to the latest. Still can't get it to mesh. The primary router picks up the WS5200 and when I press the h button on both, they sync and both lights turn green, but the WS5200 still shows the default unsecured wifi network (and for the life of me I don't know the default router password, and it doesn't use the router password of the main router)Yes there will be 2 (?) ota updates after you flashed that one. Working from memory here as I set mine up way back and haven't need to change anything. You can try to get the mesh set up using a short cable. Once the mesh is configured, move the secondary trust to wherever you want it.Weird. Not sure maybe @Speedster can help.
I've tried that. Still not working. It's starting to look like this will never happen.Working from memory here as I set mine up way back and haven't need to change anything. Other thing to try is to use the WS5200 as the primary router.
Hard reset it. And then cable it up. IIRC you don't push any buttons when cabling it. Just make sure to use the correct portsI've tried that. Still not working. It's starting to look like this will never happen.
The AI Life app picks the WS5200 up as a separate router that needs configuration.
