Huawei e173 exceptionally slow with Telkom Mobile SIM card

Hi,

Cut a long story short I have a Telkom Mobile SIM which works fine if used in cellphone and shared via a wifi hotspot but the SIM when connected to my Huawei e173 dongle is exceptionally slow and I cant figure out why.

Here is a speedtest done on my laptop with the internet connection shared via the wifi hotspot on the cellphone with the Telkom Mobile SIM which I am happy with - http://www.speedtest.net/result/4045283853.png

When trying to run the Speedtest using the Huawei e173 dongle I couldnt run the speedtest as the page barely loaded. This was plugged into a D-Link 2750u router, but I noticed similarly slow speeds when plugged directly into a computer/laptop.

Does anybody have any idea why the connection is just not working properly on the Huawei e173 dongle?

Check it out, maybe you get some idea what is happening.
