Good Morning All.

My fibre was just installed and i'm ready to go, but, yes always a but.

Telkom gave me a router (Huawei HG8245), the instructions in the box says once connect i should use ip address 192.168.100.1 to connect to the router.

The router is stuck on first identifying network and then once connect unknown network.

When i try connecting to the ip address, it doesnt want to, when i ipconfig there is no default gateway ip.
if i manually put in the ip address in network settings it still doesn want to connect.

I've tried ipconfig/release and the ipconfig/renew, but nothing.

Any one have any other advice for me?

Thanks

P.S. The cable is fine, used two different one's, they work with the old router and connect to the internet through my still active ADSL.

Might be a dumb question but have you tried 192.168.10.1? Usually to access the router it would be the first subnet [192.168.10.1] rather than [192.168.100.1]
