Huawei Mate 20

Im looking to get a Mate 20 Pro on contract, how would I know if it's dual sim before taking delivery? Does vodacom give the single sim devices?

Yes, they are dicks like that. AFAIK only CellC and Telkom give dual SIM devices on contract. I have the dual through Telkom.

Check if the box has two IMEI numbers on the outside, then you are golden.

Haha, wifi reception is not as good as my old S7, and then the issue with 802.1x on a /23 prefix network (does not work), apparently I have to wait for an update, their solution of assigning static IP did not work, reformat did not work either
Using static IP at home works now after format but there I do have a /24

I just expect a device that costs this much to at least have decent gorilla glass, slomo could perhaps be fixed with a software update
The only issue I am facing is the weird Jelly Effect in 4K video recording. If you shoot in 4K and start panning, have a look at tue left and right side of the frame, there is a weird bit of distortion.

Have you tried shooting in 4K on yours?

@Dolby, apologies I forgot to do the 960fos test, will post some over the weekend from various places to see if it's an. Issue with objects that are close or far as well.

Ye saw that, think that could also be fixed with a software update.
When trying to record a drone's blades spinning the AI in the phone can't do it properly, apparently (as the guy in the video explains) the phone wants/needs to know what's it's trying to slow down, so it has no idea that those are blades as they are moving to fast, so it messes it up. The IPhone had no problems doing it properly.
But that could also be solved with a update I think
(Will post a link to the video if I can find it, was a review between Mate 20 Pro and Iphone X or Xs)

Mine doesn't seem to have an issue with AI ... it's the focus issue.

I've just compared slow mo with another P20P - it kills the M20P!

So either my specific unit has an issue ; or the P20P really is much better. I tried a S9 at the same and that didn't seem that amazing to me ... from what I've seen, the P20Pro is better than both the M20P and S9

November patch is out. Updating now.
