Try disable the battery management on the Fitbit app

On the Twilight model all seems fine, it's been in its case since day 1.

Didn't even know there were Lense protectors, but come to think of it I'd hate to have a situation like some unlucky LG V20 owners who had the Lense glass cracking issue.
