Huawei P10 Lite

I just restarted my phone, and realised that I no longer have the Vodacom animation screen I now have the stock Huawei start up animation, with the sound too. I just thought it's odd.

It either crashed on the startup or there are new defaults after update. It is in 'Themes' app, you can restore Vodacom theme.

No, it's not a theme, and it definitely didn't crash on startup. The startup animation can't be changed with a theme, because it's built into the system. I like it though, because now I get the full Huawei experience, and I very much like the blue bubbles

Vodacom startup animation is a part of theme. I disabled Vodacom theme with Huawei default during my first hour playing with the phone.

BTW, There is a number of beatiful themes on the store. Unfortunately not all conform to the EMUI 8.0 and finding a good one is a matter of a luck.

Hi everyone, on average how much is it to replace the screen? Whether via Huawei or an official store or through these small cellphone shops?

Also does the Huawei Firmware Finder app still work?

Any advice if its worth getting one that needs a screen replacement only?

Thanks

I'm not referring to the wallpaper or theme, it's the startup / boot animation that plays when you restart your device. It is not part of the theme, so it can't be changed, unless your device is rooted.

Also, the boot animation only changed after I got the update to B371(C02). It must have been an oversight though, because the Mate 10 Pro still has the Vodacom boot screen. I guess I'll wait for the next update to see if it comes back.

Received the December 2018 security updates (+-24 December), on Telkom.

I can confirm that the last update did indeed remove the Vodacom animation.

Personally, I always hated seeing the network animation on my P10 lite, that is the reason why I made sure that my P20 (second line) was free of any network branding on start up.

Greetings peeps, compliments of the season to you all.

Has anyone experienced battery issues with their P10 Lite?

I have had my handset for around a year.

When my phone gets to about 35% and I do something like send a WhatsApp or anything, the battery goes to 0% and the phone shuts down. Then I put the phone onto charge and it will show, whilst charging, some random percentage, usually between 40-50%

I know I'm pretty much in for a battery replacement, the first time this has happened to me with a phone.

Mine is still good. But mine is also only a few months old.

Mine is almost two years old (July this year would be full two years) and no such issues.

Unless it has to do with you excessively charging it I suspect it may be a defect in the battery. Could also be related to the OS itself not having been properly updated and optimized.

Anybody here with this phone had overheating problems? I got a wifi screen mirror thing for the tv a few weeks ago. Now sometimes I can watch for hours without a problem, and other times like today the phone starts overheating after about 15 minutes.

The phone is only a few months old so I'm wondering if I should take it back for a warranty repair or something, or do they all do this?

Mine tends to overheat when I use WAZE. I have now started using my old Lenovo Z2 for Waze when I am in the car.

Sounds like a P10 problem then. I'll call Telkom in the morning.

This has now become an everyday thing. I will have to contact Telkom to check this phone out.

Hi everyone,

Can someone please tell me how to test the hardware of the phone? Is there a code to start a diagnostic test run for everything or some setting on board that I could use? (Similar to samsung or Sony diagnostic tests)

I googled it & there are many many codes, so not sure which is the correct one to use.

Assistance will be greatly appreciated, thanks

Codes with EMUI do not work anymore. Try "Device Info HW" app.

Thanks man, tried it out but gave more an overview & only a screen test. Found another app that did a comprehensive test.

Any idea why the codes don't work anymore?
