Huawei P6

I am, of course.

The "GPS Status & Toolbox" just says "GPS is currently disabled", and I don't seem able to do anything else within the app:

Hopefully I'm just being a dumbass. :D

I am going to ask the stupid question here, ha e u turned the gps on?

I cannot find anything referring to the GPS in the settings anywhere, that's my problem.

I am just hoping I'm being an idiot and being confused by Omni Rom. :(

My phones, otherwise I'd send screenshots, swipe down with 2 finger, gps should be near the bottom on the left.

Tap to turn on, long press to go to advanced settings, you will see 1 option (I think) it's probably set to medium now, you need to switch it to high, you can read the description as to what low med and high are there as well. That's actually vanilla Droid setting go its kitkat, is a lil more complicated.

Figured it out. Had to change it to high accuracy mode to enable GPS. Not wording I had with the previous ROM.

*edit*

Your advice there would have sorted it, thanks.

Well, here's another daft question:

When I install "GPS Status & Toolbox", why do I only appear to have the "status" and not the "toolbox" part?

All I have access to is that screenshot I posted above - Can't actually run anything.

no need to run gps toolbox. get the gps test app. enable your gps by setting to high. then under gps test tick keep screen on. let it run, after 5min you should be fine. else reflash the rom.

Nearly everything.

My music is dead. Two different music players freeze/don't play.

This is playing music off the SD card.

Flashed the latest omni and it's running super smooth, just need to create symlinks to play games of SD card. BTW is the an app which I can use to make symlinks besides terminal emulator.

If it exists, its not on the play store, I looked for someone who was running out of space on the internal storage and wanted to move to SD.

Music is quite iffy. Stops, crashes, pauses. Is this something to do with the SD card possibly?

Can honestly say I have not had that problem, but I have also never used the stock player nor mp3s.

All my music is on spotify, which also uses the SD card, pretty sure I have a class10, at the very least it would be a class 6.

Music seems okay now.

The last (and fairly substantial issue) appears to be battery life. When I woke up this morning, my phone was charged. Upon unplugging it, I was at under 80% within minutes.

You remember to turn GPS off?
My Avg drain is 2.1%/hr since i pulled it off charge at 6am.
Install Batter Battery Stats https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats, it will give youa solid idea as to what is using your battery. I find the most usable stat is to see which apps are generating partial wakelocks.

A wakelock in simple terms is the cpu being wokenup, but not the screen itself, so generally an app running in the background polling for an instance change, I had some trouble with pushbullet when I enabled its notification mirror service, it woke the phone up around 500 times in 4 hours checking for notifications that it may need to push to my desktop.
Androids have various power states in which they reside depending on how much power is needed, seldom does your phone ever hit the 1500mhz point outside of games, it simply does not need it, but when an app is triggering a wakelock event, it keeps your phone in 200mhz point instead of letting it stay in deep sleep mode, now in deep sleep only the bare essential hardware is enabled, so screens off off, wifi is on minimal power with maximum keep-alive packet intervals, non-essentials sensors are disabled, all of which is on in an idle state when outside of wake lock, so instead of using no power they are using minimal power.

Yeah, GPS is off. I will check out your other suggestions, thanks.

Again, I must say, what an enormous difference to the Huawei version of Android. Immersive mode =
