Where from, how much, dual sim?
 
Vodacom currently has it for R299pm on a Flexi 200 as do Telkom so you get plenty of airtime. It's the L09 so I guess its not the dual sim version, but I'd use a SD card in any event. Played a lot with the phone today, web browsing and most apps launch and work smooth and fast, but the battery does drain pretty steadily. Significantly less laggy than the S4 running Lollipop and Touchwiz. I do have concerns about battery drain even though the device is idling.

Indoor camera shots turn out quite sharp with OIS, but do contain a lot of noise so it smears out fine detail, the white balance seems a little off on most of the shots I've taken so far which is not that great. Audio quality with my Yamaha EPH-100 in ears is surprisingly loud and the quality certainly above my expectations, I imagine it will drive full size headphones with ease.

Thrilled with the LCD, certainly one of the best I've seen, zero backlight bleeding, very uniform brightness. I won't pretend it is as sharp as the QHD displays on the S6 and G4, but certainly a very good quality display. Overall a very well built device, but it does have its unpolished edges.

Anyone here own a P8 MAX ? Yes I know it is not available locally, but I am thinking of buying one in Dubai or the UK next week when I am there. Yes I know it is a big phone, but I like big phones and I have big hands. Love the dual SIM also....and the massive battery.
 
P8 Lite is R2900 @Incredible this weekend. Expecting the P9 Lite to be between R4500-R6000 at current exchange rate.
 
Dam decisions. Not sure if I should get the p8lite at that price or wait for p9lite. The p9 was announced I think and is quite pricey.
 
I'm faced with the same conundrum. I think I will settle for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. It's got more features than the P8 Lite. P9 Lite might come in attached to the current exchange rate which would put it around R4k-R5k. The G8 is already over R5k.
 
Does anyone know if the Huawei P8 series can change it's system font ? the UI font of the phone, and not within an app ?
My Samsung Note 3 can change between 2 fonts, I use the Choco Cooky one, and would want something similar on the P8 if I buy one.

PS I am not keen on rooting the device

I've upgraded mine to Android 6.0 and the font setting only had default listed, which I assume makes it possible to install other fonts.
 
So, I have/had a UL00 - the dual sim version.
I took a swim with it, and the mainboard and LCD were both replaced under Huawei select.
Only trouble is, they replaced it with a L09 mainboard - single sim.

Should I be grumpy and demand another replacement with the correct board?
I didn't buy the phone for its dual sim capability, and I use slot 2 for an SD card. So not sure if it's worth the hassle...?

I'd try to get it sorted. It will be a selling point when you replace it one day.
 
Hi Guys

My phones glass screen cracked over the weekend. When I took out the contract with MTN the sales guy mentioned that Huawei has a service similar to Samsung ADH. He couldn't tell me if I need to register, I then contacted Huawei, needless to say I never got a response nor do they answer their phones.

Do a person automatically qualify for this or did i have to register.

As far as I know, you automatically qualify - no registration required.

They're ordering the correct board for me, will get it done next week.

IFix service is really good, they've even offered to pick it up from my office and drop it off when done.
