Huawei P8 & P8 Lite - Reviews, tips & tricks

I dont understand why anybody would still get the P8 on contract.

The LG G4 is R299 pm with R200 airtime pm from Vodacom. The G4 has better specs, user interface & will receive updates in the future.

The P8 is just prettier than the G4, thats it?

On a random note. I am amazed at how well Samsung phones retain value. The Flat/normal S6 is still 429 pm from Vodacom.

Huawei is asking for Samsung prices these days but cannot match their after sales service, resale value or technology.

Huawei low end makes sense but not their high end offerings.

Huawei are now telling me they can't source a replacement dual-sim mainboard for my P8 and have offered to swap my phone for a dual sim Mate 7

Doesn't feel like a like-for-like swap to me? Yeah, bigger screen and battery but I was happy with the size of the P8.

Also, no, huawei are not asking samsung prices. Have you seen the price of the S6 nowadays?
 
Wife's P8 Lite has been water-damaged for about 2 months now. Which is better, buying a new phone (xiaomi perhaps) or take it to ifix to be repaired?
Has anyone had to replace a phone's motherboard; how much did it cost roughly?

I am of the opinion that sub 3 grand phones should be treated as disposable's. Crack a screen or drown it and just throw it away and buy another. Hopefully the user only manages to kill said device once in a 12 month cycle, then it is cost effective to replace.
 
Finally getting my replacement UL00 motherboard fitted.

Strikes me this requirement took huawei by surprise a bit.

I get your drift FlashSA. I bought a R1250 phone from Takealot that she has been using for the past 2 months; it's a Leagoo Alfa 5. It was actually snappy at first but now it is starting to be slow. I guess I need to move apps to the mico sd card. It takes 2 sims and has a separate micro sd slot; I wish my Huawei Ascend Mate 7 had this. I thought it would be easy to resurrect that p8 lite because she loved that phone and the size was perfect for her, hence the leagoo Alfa 5 I got her.

Anyone have a P9 Lite I'm trying to decide between a P9 Lite and a LG Nexus 5X any thoughts?
 
Loving the P8. Best value for money. My only gripe is that the numerical keys don't appear on the keyboard unless you click to open the 2nd set of keys. My S4 had all on the same screen.

Morning ladies and gents. I have an issue since yesterday. My P8 only charge when its powered off. Is this a software issue of hardware? TIA

SO now I have a requirement to use the dual-sim, so I'm glad I insisted on getting this sorted.

Only problem - my sim2/sd tray seems to have been swapped for an SD-only tray.



FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
