hundred pushups program

I suggest everyone who is trying the pushup thing do it and work their way to collumn 3 - will be harder but in the end will be worth it

Painful :erm:
But very good, worth doing just like the pushup program. Hell squats are so easy there's no excuse not to :)

a tried the sit up program, much harder than i remember sit ups being, i used to be able to do easy 100, now the initial test i struggled to do 40.

That is intense! Have you noticed a decent difference in muscle definition and tone?

I am keen on starting this program this week :)

Do it!

I also used to be able to do 100 easily, realised I was doing the bad form traditional sit-ups and was cheating without realising it. If you don't focus on doing them right it is easy to cheat.
Following the guide on the 100 sit-ups site, my initial test was 43.
In my last set yesterday after W4 D2, column 3, I managed 60 :D
Tried going for 70 but due to exhaustion I don't think I was doing the last ones properly.

Edit:
Did my pushup exhaustion test for week 6. Managed 57, so I'm going to have to drop down to column 2.
Still, nice improvement over my initial test of 48.

I'm also keen on adding them to my pushups program - since I've already allocated time for the pushups I figured I may as well add some time for sit-ups and/or squats. I'm also hoping it'll keep me doing the pushups once I've completed week 6 (sorta defeats the purpose of doing them now if I'm not going to keep doing them in the future - even if I'm just doing a set amount to keep fit).

I'll try the sit-ups test tonight after I've finished Week 4 day 1 for the pushups - then update my spreadsheet accordingly (would be nice to get rid of my belly!).

Awesome, good luck hey :)

Just a note, working on your stomach muscles does not burn fat around your stomach. You cannot target a specific part of your body to burn fat there, but getting defined stomach muscles will help :)

Yeah I figured it probably wouldn't get rid of it on its own but if I can build muscles in a few more places then hopefully I'll be burning fat off of some part of my body (muscle burns fat from somewhere right?). I've made some changes to my diet already (especially to cut down on all of the junk food) but I don't get much exercise so hopefully this will help a bit too. Now if I can just lay off the booze!

Yip! The more muscle you have in proportion to your total mass and body fat content, the higher your metabolism will be, so the more fat you will burn. Any kind of exercise is beneficial, but diet is also extremely important.

Try fit in a quick jog if you can as well!

Good luck!

Just visited the website, it looks good. But I have a bit of a head cold, can that be an issue?

After completing column 1 of week 6 last week succesfully - I tried to complete column 2 of week 6 Day 1 today.

The sets were 40, 50, 25, 25, 50

I failed miserably :( - only managing 40, 27, 20, 20, 40 -

My arms are HURTING!!!

suppose going to have to keep at it till I can finish this week successfully...

If you failed to meet the sets, and your arms hurt, that means you got some good exercise!

:) yeah - not complaining - more just sharing enthusiastically :P

This brings the total pushups to 3803

Should aim for 10k :P

Tried another program (android app). So I scraped through to 209 pushups in alternating sets of 18,17 with 75s breaks. However I failed to do 100 continuous. I can only do 50 continuous.

So I'm trying this program. I'm guessing I should start in week 5? Somehow I'm doubting by week 7 I'll be doing a hundred.

Sent from my HTC Desire using MyBroadband Android App
