Hurricane Irma

Puerto Rico bracing for impact. This could get really serious.

Yeah , heard this on Fox news last night. They have been making solid preparations for the impact by securing their windows with thick wooden boards and galvanized sheeting. Seems like they are going to get the eye of the storm, doesn't look good at all for them. We can only pray that they will take heed of the warnings and stay safe, that there will be no lives lost.

Seems like the Western tip of the Puerto Rico Island would be experiencing 107kmph winds at 8pm tonight and then will be increasing to 146kmph around 11pm tonight according to the forecast. That is serious winds:cry:

Being caned like this in the dead of night would make it so much worse. Saying prayers for then all

Oi vey!...

Somebody is going to lose a shedload of solar panels in the next few days.

Who is following this? After the Houston Hurricane, this one is a category 5... 180 to 220mph expected, which is just crazy.

Don't think there has ever been a hurricane with 220mph winds. IIRC only 1 cyclone clocked above 200 and that was Patricia at 215.

The cat 5 I was in for 2 days was clocked at 165mph and that was mad scary enough.

/goes to check google to confirm

That was the prediction as to what this one might reach. It may not, who knows, what we do know, is this is just insane either way lol

Anything over 100mph is insane. Considering the speeds measured are sustained, the gusting can reach 20-40mph more.

thanks for the wishes guys.

Ok so i went to work today and they are putting up the zinc shutters over the windows and board over the other not covered parts. head office want us to work to at least 5pm on saturday which is when the hurricane is due to hit us. They seemed to offer people a 4h work day so we can go and get ready BUT not everyone was told this I assume to avoid a mass exit. I only found out when I noticed one person missing. I said well in that case I am working 4hrs on friday and we leaving to head north that afternoon or evening and wont be back the weekend.

Gas stations were packed this morning and I assume are dry tonight as there are no cars at the 2 I rode pass this morning.

Geez ^

Imagine your car is packed and you are ready to leave only to find out there is no fuel.
