Hey IBurst might actually be worth it again! Welcome back Shaun, your contribution to this community deserves multiple awards!

Hi Shaun.
Great to have you back!!!
IB still looking good in Durbs - mostly!!

I have noticed a significant increase in packet loss(international) for about the last month. This appears to be on the "uplink" side of things. The reason why i am guessing its upload is upload speed has deteriorated from about 300kbps to about 60kbps. Skype upload is having problems ie the other side cannot hear me too well(breakup = packet loss). However download speeds still maxing out, streaming ok etc.

Whats happend to our upload bandwidth??

According to their website they have moved to 66 Parklane Sandton.

I found you.. Hi Shaun, welcome back, please solve the 'downloading Gmail to outlook' issue. Spoke to you yesterday and I see there is no incident logged on your site like you promised. I have been having this issue now from 22/3. Look at thread 'Problems DL'ing email from GMail' please and PM me if you need any specific info.

I think they moved... the last time I called - about 2 weeks ago I was directed to somewhere in Sandton

anyhow Shaun I hope this time you guys are really going to focus on the proper support and informing your clients, and PLEASE get rid of the STUPID "oh lets check your MTU settings" response when we complain that the Inet is slow.

The thing is that most unexperienced Iburst users (probably the majority) will see a big speed increase by changing their MTU, so it is the first thing to check when a client phones complaining about speeds.

The helpdesk staff have no idea whether you are IT capable and have done this already, so its a good place to start. The problem comes when the helpdesk staff only know this one remedie to your problem, and after that they are stuck on how to fix your problem.

Now that you mention it, I found this on 2006-02-18 [I emailed myself the link & it has been in my GMail Inbox ever since] by accident when trying to fix a friend's heXPee PC a while back:

and I immediately thought...iBurst...that 1352 is not recommended by M$ for Windoze heXPee...
