I'm so Goth, my wrists slit themselves
I always look at what loot.co.za has to offer, but generally never took the plunge to order some thing, last weekend I decided to give them ago, I totally regret that now and I don't think I will be supporting them again, much smaller online store and such but their customer service to be honest while friendly not entirely happy.

That said may be on the impatient side, but I like to get things sorted pronto, nothing annoys me more then some body telling you they will pass on the information to the relevant department and provide feedback, I have yet to find a company or person that actually does the effort to provide feedback when promised, so really not exclusive to loot.co.za either.

Onto the issue, ordered an item with a lead time of 4-8 odd days for a local item, ordered on the 3rd , obviously that exclude weekends, basically there is 3 days left for the item to arrive and be shipped.Problem is shortly( a day at most) after having ordered the item, the page was removed and clicking on the item link of the order shows that this item is out of stock with the supplier.

So I started to get concerned wether or not the item will be sourced, and if the order is secured and will ship out on time, no one at loot has either confirmed if the item was actually sourced considering the item went out of stock shortly after having ordered it, so I have literally no idea if it will be honored or not.

Pretty sure loot will have a record of what was ordered from the supplier and what came back as out of stock, it's not a difficult process to find out whether or not the stock is suppose to come or not, and shouldn't take a more then a couple of minutes to check, and yet loot was entirely incapable of actually giving me a straight answer or report back.

Then again its my own fault for ordering an item that needs to be ordered, the better part of the website requires that items needs to be ordered meaning more then often you going to run into problems with the supplier being out of stock after having ordered.

So decided that if that can't confirm stock in a reasonable time frame gave them 5 odd hours for a simple thing to find out whether or not I will get the item, I kindly prefer a refund, guess what they haven't even bothered to do that as yet will see what happens tomorrow. If they don't, will leave it till Thursday, and take it from there. They replied via messenger that information they have is that the supplier has stock, the joke however is that the page of that item is marked out of stock and removed from general view, can be seen from the order placed.

It's more then likely the item was out of stock in the first place, what I can't figure out for the life of me is you order an item from the supplier they would immediately report back that said item isn't in stock, or we are sending this or that stock or your order is ready to be picked up.

It has happened before ordering some thing which had to be ordered from the supplier and took nearly two weeks for the store to come back and inform they have no stock.I am going to be pissed if they come back with no stock reply on expected ship date.

Unfortunately having to wait for majority of orders to be delivered or picked up from the suppliers means that even having ordered your order still isn't assured 100%, sorry loot unless it's in stock I am not interested.

Thankfully takealot return was handled within 3 days after collection and the replacement to be delivered tomorrow by the looks of things, all of this handled in 7 working days.

I've only received good service from Loot thus far. Hope you get sorted.

Don't they have a page to track your order?

Lets give the short version, ordered some thing that has to be sourced from the supplier, tracking the order and product page a day after having ordered, it went out of stock.Currently on working day 7 of 8.

So I had a legit concern as to whether or not they are going to honor the order, the product page says out of stock. My order page hasn't updated since the 3rd.Currently only reflects stock on order.

No one can confirm whether or not stock is on the way, and that simply isn't good enough.

It starts with Loot and it ends with Takealot. In between something bad happened.

Yeah go on give takealot a bad rep :p. I have received nothing but super turn around time for a return and replacement, however I had to sort them out first after the courier missed the appointment.Faulty product and courier missing the appointment isn't directly their fault.

Wednesday return picked up, Friday replacement and ship and I got my delivery SMS this morning, 6 days turn around for a rural area is spectacular.

Ordered from Loot quite a few times already.
No issues.

Loot has now become my go to online store and you just cant beat their gaming specials of late.
had nothing but great service from them although their delivery times could be better but its not a train smash.

Maybe pm @Loot he usually sorts out any issues.

Just a waiting game now, besides I am leaving for holiday soon definitely don't want to be sorting out carp like this on holiday, besides more then enough time was accounted for the order to be delivered.Majority of items on the website needs to be ordered from suppliers, it's not worth it, if you don't have the physical item in stock, I am not interested.

Takealot has their issues pricing generally isn't bad, I shop around before ordering any thing any ways, if the price difference is massive then I don't order it.The item I ordered had a list price of R1699.00, but the "special" is the same as every one else.

So no loss really.

I have had no issues with Loot, in fact i recently used them and realised i bought the wrong size spanner, they credited my account (not to my credit card - just inside my account) and i thought that was good of them.

Never had an issue - i dont understand how people have issues with online ordering, you order, pay and it gets delivered??? It not rocket science so how does it go all pear shaped?

Same thing happened to me last year. They gave me a R50 voucher for the troubles. The item wasn't important so I was like meh. Since than I had nothing but good service from Loot. I had to return a item once which was quick and easy like takealot. I canceled a order once and they were cool about it and gave me the refund quick.

They also have free delivery going on right now, so any small stuff I just buy from them. Also delivery is only R35 and minimum order is like R250 which is much cheaper and lower order margin than takealot.

Lol exactly the same 2 things i was going to say for me they couldn't source the item so contacted me and refunded me, and gave me a R50 for the trouble.

And also had a return where i bought the item but their description had a feature it didn't have , they took it back and refunded me quickly.

Their prices are better (on most items) then takealot and free delivery on R250
- the delivery times though that get me compared to takealot on that they really takes a while and IMO can't seem to keep to the promised times.

I had the exact same experience with Loot as the OP, but they gave me an R100 voucher to make up with me. They also gave me a written response, telling me that they believed their supplier to have had stock when I ordered the item.

I accepted the response, it is the same way I would have approached the customer under the circumstances. As a recommendation, I will shake up their buyer’s department as the situation spelled out a pre-order on unallocated stock to me. I know this practice quite well…

Nonetheless, I was happy with the outcome.

It is when they own and integrated the courier company...

So order still not updated, neither replied on facebook or messenger or email.I have been nothing but polite but straight to the point. Not interested in vouchers either if they screwed up they should own up and improve their system.Gut feeling is no stock, inept operations....each to his own, I much rather prefer a online store that has physical stock on hand, saves me the annoyance of having to wait 2 weeks to find out they couldn't get any stock...
