I got the call i have been waiting for this morning and went to pickup the Omnia...
I didn't play with it much, as i was out most of the day but here is
my impression so far!

- 8GB on board + and 8GB MicroSD card
- The card contain Garmin mobile XT with south african maps (Nice!!!)
- Speakers are very laud
- Could not play any divx files yet, getting a weird message saying "file is not supported".
I am sure i'll get it right soon, but so much for divx out of the box :-(
- Camera is awesome, i love the smile detection, the second it will detect a smile, it will take the picture
- Good quality 5MB pictures in day or night
- Good quality video camera
- GPS, works great, quick, took me to gold reef city :-)

Thats all for now....gonna play with it...

Feel free to ask me any questions regarding the phone.

the display quality compared to an N95 Nokia ??? (i am happy with the display on the N95, anything less i will be disappointed ... )

and the battery life???

The omnia does have good features but looks too much like the iPhone, does not interest me in the looks department.

How comfortable/easy to use is the on screen keyboard? The Omnio does look nice, but i don't know whether I will be able to cope without actual physical keys to press, especially when SMS'ing or browsing the net.

I don't have a Nokia N95...so i can't tell you.
but the display is great.

Will have to do some battery testing and let you know.

It's actually quiet good!
I always thought my next phone will have full qwerty keyboard.
but sms/email writing is very easy, specially in landscape mode with 2 hands.

You get used to it, well I did on the Diamond anyway, I can type a sms or email pretty much the same as on a physical KB.

@Bar1 - looks like a nice phone btw, enjoy it! ;)

I still think the Touch pro is the best of the 3 phones. Best of luck with your new toy.
Agreed, I had a look at a plastic replica of the pro and it's very neat indeed, about the same size as the N95... Lovely qwerty KB, very functional although smallish, problem is with Nashua on the Procall120 pay in is 4.5k!!!!! How does one justify that pay in?

I mean how can they seriously justify that?? It is a Diamond with a freaking KB! What a load.

I have a query regarding this phone... normally I would do extensive research myself but I am capped internationally at the mo! :)

It seems good on the surface but I currently have the N95 and love it, so I am looking at the N82 as an upgrade which I am due for due to the fact that it is pretty much the N95 in candy bar style with a xenon flash!

Does the Omnia have a xenon flash and is the camera even nearly as good as the N95? And does it even come close to the N95/N82 in terms of availability of applications, for free if you know where to look, available on the symbian platform?

Cedar's square in fourways/jhb.

Killer...congrats on your omnia...i am looking to get a TV out cable!
