What do you mean uncapped going sour ? Since Thursday I have pushed 30gb on my amobia uncapped but I am still planning on test driving ADSL as well.
UPDATE 12/04 : Telkom will be coming out again on Friday to do the connection of the phone line.
UPDATE 16/04 : Called 10219 4 times yesterday to confirm so allegedly I will have a phone line by the end of the day. I have a pulled through a network cable from where the TrendNET ADSL modem will be (where the phone line comes in) to my wireless router upstairs. The micro filter from Nivo.co.za arrived on Wedenesday. Strangely no one so far told me I needed a certified copy of my ID for RICA - this came out in one of the calls yesterday so I visited the cop shop yesterday as well.
Perhaps by the end of next week I will have ADSL ? Who knows what might happen next on this quest.

Got my line installed yesterday (I have a sweet number

I applied for ADSL and by Wednesday I should have a date of when it will be activated.
UPDATE : OK - this adventure seems to have come to a somewhat blunt anticlimax.
I called in today to first get my free minute balance on Closer (will cancel as soon as I can after 3 months) and secondly to follow up in my lines ADSL status. Turns out my line is ADSL activated since this morning already ?! WTF no one called me about that.... But I like the fast service (if it is true). Just got my Mweb account so now I am eager to get back home and figure out my cheap TrendNET modem and hopefully start surfing my uncapped account.
I have learned a lot during this saga - from what friendly and effective service should be like to how to repave your driveway.
