Iburst or Sentech please help

I have to say that since Olivedale-BS went live, I am much happier with iBurst, the problem I had was with Bryanston-BS, I no longer have to rely on Bryanston-BS (except maybe if Olivedale-BS goes down).

IMO, iBurst will kick MyWi butt, however MyWi still has a market for people that don't need to be high on speed & need an unspecified amount of bandwidth at a fixed price.

IC Where in olivedale are you .... I'm about 500m from bambury cross down bellairs moving away from the dome ....

Do you need an external antenna to get good signal?

Hi BlobNow

I'm actually not in Olivedale at all, I am on the Bryanston/Randburg side of the highway.

I am using the UTD's own antenna - the external patch antenna (which WBS supplied to help me get a better signal from/to Bryanston-BS) is a bit difficult to position for Olivedale-BS, and since it is directional it will not help if Olivedale-BS goes down.

Speed is not as good as it was back in November & December on Bryanston-BS (700Kbits/s..900Kbits/s), but Olivedale-BS is giving me ~320Kbits/s max, which is way better than sub-56Kbits/s slowness I've had since January on Bryanston-BS.

Hope that helps :).

Hi all

I have been with Sentech for approx 6 months, normal complaints on speed, performance and inability to browse overseas sites.I then joined IBURST in Jan. but on the first day with 100% signal the speed was so slow that "my wireless" looked more like a miracle.

My speed is terrible again, and I was wondering if I should not give IBURST a second chance. I live in Constantia Kloof (Roodepoort) opposite Makro. Can anybody please tell me if the speed issues for this area has been resolved ?

Help is appreciated

Andre

I live in Constantia Kloof, the speed issues has been resolved, because I get to enjoy full speeds once again :D

IC, thanks ... I'm seriously considering the IBurst 9Gb package ... due to the fact that it's unshaped ...

I'm currently on uncapped ADSL and it's costing me a total of R1050 p/m (inc telskum) and the IBurst is R1050 for 9GB (plenty for me) 1MBs so twice the speed and unshaped...

I'd basically swithc to IBurst if the 1MBs could be in anyway a reality and the unshaped gave me better Skype and MMORPG response ...
