Will iBurst be responding to the current offerings from Mweb, Afrihost, etc?

A simple yes or no from the iBurst rep would suffice as well as a timeline if they are.

I dont need any details but only want to know if I should stick it till they make an announcement.

I can't get ADSL and the way these offers are rolling out I may as well sell my house and move to an area that does have ADSL.

they are so far behind now, I doubt they will ever be able to even start catching up with ADSL.

Just spoke to a guy from B360 and they are offering 4096kbp uncapped for R999.00. Equipment will set me back about R2k and I will be stuck with the useless iBurst webphone modem.

P2P will be shaped to about 70kbps which is still a lot better than the shaping on iBurst.

Lets get this straight:

384kbps line (R152) + Voice Line (R131) + Uncapped ADSL 384 Kbps (R197 ) = R480

Sorry iBurst, but I'm moving to ADSL next month.

iBurst 5GB = R455...

I too will be moving shortly. Response would be highly appreciated from iBurst though.

If they provided that WiMAX as ADSL alternative, where you pay for connection only and then choose your ISP....

Those I-Burst idiots keep quiet when it suites them, like right now when they have no response to all these packages. However, they are very vocal defending their new VAS throttle fees and protecting their hides with their service failures. I don't expect anyone from Sh*t-Burst to comment on anything here. However, I do expect Diegoa to come here and tell us how I-Burst is different to ADSL....

No, that will be iBurst's response, they will tell us to compare apples with apples, they've done that before.

I already know ibursts response.... "Its not Sustainable".... yea yea we will see. I think they are hoping that all these isp's that are offering such low prices wil go under

i think they (iburst) have a better chance of going under :D

LOL, Mweb going under.... Not really going to happen, Sh*t-Burst going under.... Well I can picture the toilet being flushed very soon. Hopefully, if they go under I get automatically released from my financial internet prison, I mean my contract with them.

can't you break contract due to their service levels ? i think a few people on neotel were let out of their contracts becuase neotel wasn't providing the service stipulated on their contract, if you not getting any joy from iburst maybe try that ...

iBurst is different from ADSL because ADSL is Wired and iBurst is Wireless. Obvious.

It still does not explain how a smaller ISP such as B360 can offer UnCapped WiMax at speeds of 4096kbps for R999.00 per month on a month to month contract.

B360 has been in business since 2002 and I fall within there coverage area and I will be moving as soon as I can get rid of my iBurst contract. Maybe I'll just downgrade to Wireless 1 and cancel when my contract expires in 12 months time. Also seed all my torrents on the 64k service 24/7 just because I can seeing as the uploads are not shaped.

The fact that iBurst has not responded, even to say that they do not have a response at this time, is cause for concern.

It'll take a while for all the changes to filter through and even longer for the anti-iBurst sentiment to die down, but we're well on our way. The systems are still our number 1 priority but we've managed to launch a couple of exciting products in-between all the problem, W-DSL, ADSL2+ and iDSL comes to mind. There's a really nice one on the way, hopefully in April.

I dont think iBurst deserves to have its own section on this forum considering how little they care about how their customers perceive them. And I dont think the anti-iBurst sentiment will die down soon.

signates,
You PM'd me during the last two days and I responded. I apologize but I do not have the authority to respond or comment on unannounced products.
