iBurst sets the record straight

So they send their 40MB subscribers a daily email on their usage? The email is probably nicely filled with images and advertising thus eroding the poor user's cap even more

Pathetic I tell you !! Absolutely Pathetic !!!!! What a bloody farce !!!!!

40MB - What the "&"*&^*" can you do with that !!!!

RIP OFF !!!!

R49 for 40MB, keeping in mind that you can get a 3GB DSL for about R130 [excluding telkom charges]

But really 40MB? thats less than 2MB per day for a month... can't even check email with that amount.

Shame guys don't be so harsh, taking into account their connection is 1Mbit? You can have broadband for a whole 320 seconds! :p Unless you accidentally use it on an XP update...

Somehow i think Iburst is telling the whole truth here. They almost on par with telkom in lie department

Wait for next month when I bring out : Stoke's 1MB Broadband connection on my 1 MB/s connection.
Sure I'm only selling them 1 second of data, but don't worry, after the second is over, IF they are using a browser, they can use my website to purchase more throughput.
If they were actually downloading email or VPN'ing to work, tough.

This is like selling you a Ferrarri for R10000, and letting you drive it for 4 seconds.

Hmmm, excluding Telkom charges? Iburst doesn't have any Telkom charges.

With Telkom you pay R112pm to rent the line, then you pay R152pm for ADSL access at a pathetic 384kbps.

So you are out of pocket by R264pm and how much data do you get with that? Zero. That's right, zero. R264pm for 0MB.

We know better, but it makes iBurst look like an absolute bargain. Especially to the average Jo.

The biggest screw over WRT to the R40pm deal is the modem price.

What is the price per meg out of bundle? Must be still cheaper than Vodacom/MTN?

i dont think is going to work, they cant even supply the rest of south africa with adsl bw. sorry not vote here

The modem price is the killer, but you can get the modem included on 24mo contract for R69-R89pm. Tie the customer in - no way they will stick to a measly 40MB, so what they lose on the modem, they gain on the extortionate data prices.

The data is more expensive than Vodacom/MTN at R249/GB on the Play packages.

Whats the price per meg outside of bundle of MTN/Vodacom? They've been promising to lower the price but its still a ridiculous +/- R2

That is dastardly but then its not surprising given the incompetence of their debtors staff. Who does Mr. MyBroadband know who this happened to?

Someone here said they knew of someone who had that happen... the article is saying it never happened.
