This is what I'm getting with a 2Mbps modem
Local:
Test conducted on 24 March 2012 06:18:10 PM
Download Speed: 860 kbps (107.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 377 kbps (47.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 150 ms
International:
Test conducted on 24 March 2012 06:20:07 PM
Download Speed: 398 kbps (49.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 299 kbps (37.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 379 ms
Extra Capacity base stations have been planned and are being added in the following areas:
- Waverly (Pretoria area)
- Primrose (Eastrand area)
- Randparkridge (Westrand area)
The temporary base stations at Heidelberg and Roodekrans are being converted to permanent.
What this means, even though you might not be in the area, is that the load on any bordering base station will also improve.
I'm guessing / hoping that Randparkridge will help alleviate congested towers in my area
