iBurst subscribers unhappy

Here are 3 suggestions that I propose to Iburst:

1) Allow the DC Hub - (only reason for signing up in the first place)
2) Uncapped bandwith @ reasonable monthly rate
3) Outsource you technical call centre to India-(they are technically competent)

* where is the Iburst rep...? Since Mr. Green's departure iburst rep replies have been lacking...

Man, if you've ever had to deal with an Indian call centre...I'd rather take my chances with iBurst.

I have dealt with one, while in the UK....extremely knowledgeable on technical issues.

I've also dealt with them in the UK, but my experience has been quite different. Most people in the UK complain bitterly about that the fact that British companies outsource their call centres to Indian companies.

:wtf:

Coverage defining if a technology is wireless or not is abosolutely riduculous!

My wireless network at home isnt TRUE wireless because when I leave my house, I lose signal. Wi-Fis at airports arent TRUE wireless because for some stupid reason, when I leave the airport, it stops working!

I believe the correct term he was looking for is "FIXED WIRELESS". This is exactly like Neotel. You don't need a cable right to your house, but trust me, you can't go very far with that modem. Neotel is probably more restrictive in the sense that you can't even go outside your region-code [i.e. pretoria] whether there are coverage or not. iBurst with their limited coverage are not much different from Neotel's scenario.

I guess a WUG where you put big antennas on your roof to connect to the wifi network falls under the same category. No cables, but it is pretty much a fixed solution.

agreed, that is the general consensus due to the language/accent barrier however when it came down to pure technical expertise imho they delivered.

IBurst subscribers when oh when will you ever learn...

And on it rolls...

The definition of insanity: banging one’s head against the wall and doing the same thing all the while expecting a different result.

*yawn*

Explain to me how exactly is their new pricing cheaper ?

From what I understand it's cheaper for people not using the 64kb service (extensively), I suppose they're trying to discourage it's use. The top-ups are now far cheaper too.

I don't understand what this obsession is with the 64kbps service that some of you guys have. That speed is so slow as to be useless. I'd much rather have cheap topups at full speed, than that ridiculous 64kbps speed.

I dont want to micro manage my bandwidth usage.
This way if i do get capped i can still access mail , some browsing etc.

That way you're guaranteed of always having a connection. What if you're cut off after going over you limit but not knowing it. Many people have complained over the inaccuracy of the monitoring system. If you get cut off you're stuck - then you must call in ... or use dial up or 3G (if you have that option) to purchase a booster. It's worse if you're through a reseller. Will iBurst allow MWEB, TradePage, Vodacom etc sites to be accessible for Booster purchases after your allotment is used up?

Currently MWEB iBurst still reflects R499 per 3GB and R199 per 1GB. I'm not buying boosters at that price.

IMO it all went pear shaped when jannie (our helpful vodacom buddy) started making bigboy decisions at iburst, and changed things, for the worse....

we gave you hundreds of ideas jannie, but you didn't listen to us! you went and made it worse.

I can't wait till the iburst ships sinks, so our company can go back to ADSL again.

I don't think we should insult the dude personally. I'm sure he meant well.

im not insulting him, i'm just stating the truth!

every day and every new, good idea was met with "Yeah, i'll send that to "Product"

and what happened? we all know they just switched some numbers around (some for the worse) - iBurst didn't listen to the mybb members at all.

the thread was basically a joke to them

They did drop the OOB prices and doubled the cap. That was a good thing.

Where they went wrong was taking the 64 kbps away and charging an extra R199 to get that service back on a 5GB package and higher.

If iBurst kept the 64 kbps on all packages and sorted out their billing, everyone would be happy. (Well, almost everyone)

exactly - they made some products cheaper, and then added a cost to other ones.

so basically, it's like selling you a phone for R600 cheaper but forcing you to buy a starter pack with the low low price of R599..... i hate "deals" like that :wtf:

Well let's MOAN. Maybe they'll change their mind.

that would be like running to the captain of the titanic AFTER it hit the iceberg....

I have a good feeling that a lot of people are not gonna wait another year for iburst to straighten themselves out..

you know they didn't listen to us peter, heck, you of all people know since it was your thread - they don't give a crap about any of us

Perhaps but I doubt they did this on purpose. Maybe some have tried but the realities of the logistics have made the situation bad.

BTW the 'moan' statement I made was in support of complaints. Just that I don't think we should rip off Van Zyl.

Thats an awesome comparison. :D:cool:
